I commented on Suz's recent post about style adjectives/style monikers:

"Mens' velvet slippers with a little tassel on them for at-home wear??? (I actually think jeans, velvet slippers, textured knit could be a really cool juxtaposition. Ok, now *I'm* projecting.)"

And then I thought: yeah, that actually sounds pretty good to me. So I thought I would channel my advice in getting dressed today, ha! The result is below.

*The jeans and cable-knit cardi are several seasons old. The top is new to my closet this year. I'm building up my burgundy complement a bit since the color is key to my palette through autumn, holiday, and deep winter. I am interested in tonal looks right now so this was a nice opportunity to carry that out.

*Velvet slippers/house shoes also 3-4 years old at this point. Some of you might remember when I got them, part of an effort to be more intentional about my work-from-home looks. They have certainly served me well and still have life left! I will say that lately I have felt like I would prefer a less dainty shoe for better visual balance, especially when I am wearing leggings or skinnies (outside the house, boots generally provide that). A chunky velvet slipper may not be a thing that exists! Just pondering though.

*Patterned socks also part of a recent wardrobe basics refresh...they're not fair isle, but they do have a sort of Scandi look to me. Full disclosure: they seem to be slipperier than the other socks in my drawer, and so my shoes are not staying on! Oh well.

*added my watercolor landscape pendant and my great-grandpa's ring to finish things off.

Thanks for looking!
