I've been gone for a week visiting the folks in FL. While I was there I had the chance to venture into an Anthropologie and forestall a number of online purchases. However, I did find this swing dress, which I ended up getting in XS. It fits my easy/comfy work wardrobe ethic plus it's in my color scheme. Remembering Ornella's Flavia posts I added the red specs for a tiny bit of color. And a cat growing out of my leg.

I have a few separate thoughts which I will post, based on my brief moments of shopping brick-and-mortar...

It's warm here today! 31 degrees. I could layer but I didn't and these are ponte skinnies.

Okay, I am in love with your specs. Especially with this soft grey.

Is the blue already faded from your hair? I don't see it as much in this photo. But it may be the angle.

Cat growing out of your leg, indeed. I have one of those, too.

The blue was mostly on the tips and it has faded some, especially with sun and sea. I plan to go bolder next time.

Sorry I am a spanner here but I am not in love with the shape of this dress for you. Somehow it is too full on the bottom, I would prefer to see less volume there, more like A-line...
The red specs are delish though.

The glasses are great!

I see Sveta's point about the shape, but I bet this dress is really at its best when you move or when we can see it from the sides. It looks so soft and flowy. I like it.

I think I'd see the doctor about the cat growth you've got going - lol!

I'm afraid I agree with Sveta on the volume issue with this. But I also suspect in movement it looks less voluminous.

No worries, Shannon and Sveta. I get that this is not so flattering and not everyone's cuppa. I think it does look better IRL, because my mom who would prefer me to "show my figure" approved of it in the store. I have always loved the pyramid dress shape and think that motion is the key to the look. Check some of the review post pictures to see it on other bodies!

It was 0C and warm here today too! Such an odd winter so far for us. It was 10C yesterday!

I'm ducking with Shannon and Sveta on this one. I own some tops like this, though, and I know they look better with movement. Too bad you can't upload a video! The color is beautiful, I love gray, and your glasses are fab too.

Well I think it is adorable, waist surrendering yes but what the heck, the mere feel of a swing dress is enough compensation for that loss. Your photo brought me a lovely memory of wearing a swing dress in 1968, I think. I loved the feel of the fabric's weight falling from my shoulder line.
Funny thing to recall, hey?

Flavia would LOVE this!! The specs are the colour of her cords I know I do. I'm eyeing one sweater dress and I'm seriously tempted now...

Btw, Flavia is not on this course any more (I'm taking the next level now), but she has a cat! "My child", she used to refer to him.

I like this look on you! The colors and flow of the fabric are really enjoyable. I think your hair and boots provide a structure/edge that contrasts the softness of the dress - providing interest.
I love a swing dress, as it makes me feel very feminine and relaxed. I often have a difficult time styling this silhouette because I can look juvenile in it. In my case, I use chuncky/funky necklaces to add interest and style. In the winter I sometimes belt mine and wear with leggings/boots - so it becomes more of a tunic.
