I had this street style image from the Satorialist pinned for awhile because I really liked the denim jacket under the velvet blazer. I have an old favorite velvet blazer and I thought I'd try it out. It was quite comfy, the denim jacket is pretty soft and close fitting.

First version I wore was with boots and a higher rise plaid jean on a cooler day.

Second version with the heels reminds me of the 'young girl reading a book on the beach' painting with the soft gray blue denim forms. The jeans are a slightly lower rise so I was leery about skin flashing at the waist (belts were distracting to my eye and camisoles looked odd), but it was actually fine, just a tiny slice showed from time to time above the navel. More skin probably flashed in the back but the blazer had me covered.

Feedback welcome. I also thought about trying different bottoms, what colors and cuts might work?
