WIW: Ink Spill. Comment on lengths, pls.

Ink study (just tops -- all with leggings/black tall boots). I was struggling with one blue sweater but then decided to do some ink exploration and also try to look at different lengths. This also made me feel better about some conservative blue blazers.

The only plaid I have. I'm not so comfortable with prints.
Plaid with Vince car sweater on top.
Shorter boxier sweater (having difficulty with) and blue ombre scarf.
Long very sheer blue sweater with white tee.
Long sheer blue sweater W/ darker drape cardigan.
Long sheer blue sweater W/ short navy blazer.
Long sheer sweater W/ equestrian navy blazer.

Comments on lengths (or anything) much appreciated. Coming back to forum tonight do so some catching up. I don't like it when work interrupts my fun.

I really like almost all of them on you :). #3 seems a bit short, although I love the scarf on you. I'm also not so keen on the way the shapes in #6 work together. Funny, I'm not sure I'd have picked up on that if there hadn't been all the other choices! Posting a bunch at a time really does have it's advantages.

I hope you can learn to love your plaid - it definitely works to my eye.

Lengths and colors are all great, except maybe #6. In #6, the jacket is too short and square I think. And the plaid shirt on its own seems the least you, though the plaid itself is fine.

AM - I'm by no means an expert, but I like almost everything! Besides possibly #7 where I feel like there is not enough contrast in length between the layers. I'm also not a fan of plaid shirts in general although it looks fine on you.

I love your plaid shirt, AM! It looks equally good on you in 1 and 2, but my favorite is #2 for the artier vibe. I like how this version plays up the unusual collar of the shirt and uses the plaid as an accent. All of these lengths work very well on you, to my eye, except #7, which I find okay but not as great as the others. Perhaps the structure of the blazer, combined with the length, is a little stiff for you? Otherwise, I think you've done a terrific job with these looks.

Daria: I'm glad that you liked almost everything -- it means that I didn't bomb hugely (so far, tomorrow is another day). Thank you for pointing out #7 where there is not enough contrast in length between the layers -- I'll need to take a closer look at this concept when I'm dressing. And it's good to know that I have company in not being a fan on plaid shirts. But I did see Firecracker rock plaid as a layer in her travel capsule.

Firecracker: And as I just told Daria -- your really rocked that plaid as a layer in her travel capsule. Not sure it's my thing but it definitely was fabulous on you. I love how it just peaked above your sweater. I do think #2 "for the artier vibe" -- is more my thing. And I would have never known that this outfit has any arty vibe. Thanks for pointing this out. This shirt does have an unusual collar. Thanks for calling my attention to #7, and you might be on to something when you say "perhaps the structure of the blazer, combined with the length, is a little stiff for you" -- or that the blazer is feeling a little snug.
