Sorry I'm a bit late pitching back in here, it's been a busy afternoon. Thanks so much everybody!
chouette22: thanks! I really enjoyed the WIW's you posted a couple of weeks ago. More please!
How do I feel about the tattoo? Well, apart from a moment of OMG panic yesterday, pretty great! I like the fact that it now has a subtle calligraphic quality that my original computer graphic didn't have, on account of being transcribed by hand. I'm fascinated by the way it morphs when I bend and twist my arm. And of course it has some real emotional resonance. I feel sure my girl would approve.
AM: I really appreciated your messages on the other thread. Thank you so much.
Ceit: we've never met before, but welcome back. That's a kicking pair of boots.
Angie: I'm going to take that comment about the waistline on board. But don't be surprised if I surrender it on days when I just can't be bothered
gauche: no I didn't! I'd love to learn how to dye wool, but so far I've only ever dyed cotton in the washing machine.
Diane G: it's actually just a bias cut A-line with the hem sewn into the waistband and a lining underneath. Pictures here. (I think I'm too RATE to notice the wrinkling problems she reports.) It'd be a piece of cake to knock off the shape, but the devil is in the bound seam and hem detail.
Cheers again everyone!
