Brooklyn - I always arrive at that event as it starts, due to a long day of travel (it's in the extreme suburbs of Boston, and we don't have a car and are from NYC). So I had no time to find a full length mirror. That dress is one I've worn twice and I hope I can buy it if RTR ever sells it. I've never loved a dressy dress on me more, except my wedding dress.
smittie I have fussy feet and am so glad I can find walking sneakers in crazy colors these days. Those kicks made me smile all weekend during my trip to Boston.
Ryce the shoes were killing me after an over 12 hour day. I have to be more selective about wearing them. They're form Boden, so I think European fit is a bit off on me too, alas. And I'm convinced the lemming blouse does magic things for people.
I've got to work on taking these photos in better lighting. My bathroom is too tiny for me to do much of a better job at home. The work bathroom may be better than the work gym.
I meant to add some more thoughts before but was pressed for time. FWIW:
My goal for this past week was to mix in some of my dressier items so I actually wear them. I think I'm succeeding. My problem is that I'm always attracted to fun or bright or shiny things, but since I don't like to be bright and shiny all over if I'm wearing separates, I need to give more basic pieces attention too. But I'm currently drooling over some iridescent Birkenstocks, so I guess I'll never learn. But I rediscovered those slacks from the opera outfit in my closet, and they fit better than before (might have lost weight), so I do have some pieces. Just need to remember them admidst all the purple and conversational prints.
When I was a teen, everyone wore khaki and earth tones from the Gap (there were a lot of Italian girls at my school who looked great in earth tones, and I've never favored them). I got myself a purse in a fluorescent comic book print, and wore powder blue metallic eye shadow (I wetted the applicator to make it even more intense). I think, 20 years later, I'm still reacting against all that khaki, which I still don't wear unless it's travel gear for remote areas.
That said, I keep skipping makeup these days (the event pic is a notable exception). I'm just not a morning person, and if I aim to go to the gym at lunch, I don't see the point of putting it on twice. But makeup is fun, and I miss it.
