My birthday is not until next Monday, but my husband knew I was down in the dumps* and gave me my present early since he'd already gotten it--an Apple watch!

The new gold is a kind of rose gold, and the default strap is pink, so I dressed to coordinate today. I am getting a rainbow metal strap as well, and may also get a more basic black. I won't wear pink every day, after all, but this certainly goes with my berry sweaters, which I posted about this weekend. (I've kind of got a little berry capsule going on lately... since earth tones are trending, leave it to me to be this contrary; I was the same way when they were big in the 90's. However, I know I should snap up this color while it's also trending.)

* My best friend, who is single and living in a different city than either me or her family right now, is having a (planned) baby but now needs to stay in the hospital for weeks, potentially, until she delivers. I have some family obligations, I have to travel for this month, including a memorial service on the west coast,

and probably can't even visit her unless her stay extends into November.:(
