Aloha!

Warm days and balmy nights. Do the Hawaiian Islands ever have less than perfect weather?!?!

I bought this silk, floaty tank from Hawaiian based designer Tory Richard while I was in Honolulu.

Your new top has a great flowing shape and hem. The little peek-a-boo neckline is lovely. Now if only we could get some of that Hawaiian sunshine here

Oh how I miss Hawaii! And Tory Richards is so classy - great shirt on you! My DH gets his aloha shirts there.

My style changes completely in the islands - I turn into a minimalist surfer girl!

Tory Richard has the BEST Aloha shirts. My husband has the most amazing shirt from there. Gorgeous! I love the print and how flowy this is. perfect with the nude sandals. Very tropical chic.

This top is great. I like the soft pattern and the fluid shape. It goes perfectly with skinnies in your outfit.
It looks like I need to visit Hawaii, the weather sounds perfect!

Thanks everyone! This was actually a necessary purchase. No, really.....! This was our first trip to Hawaii. The temps were reported at 17C (62F) which at home means a long sleeve top. So that's what I bought. But in the middle of the Pacific, possibly due to the humidity, a light short top is all that is required over ones bikini....... (Or in my case my mummy one piece.....)

I can totally understand turning into beach babes here, it's the place for it- magical!

The aloha shirts by Tory Richards are beautiful aren't they! My husband bought one too! Tehehehe- sounds like a little club. I even think it would it totally appropriate at a casual barbecue over summer- that's pretty much a luau, isn't it?

I find this neckline works well to balance the broad shoulders of an inverted triangle. Also, I suspect the triangular shape and gorgeous movement of the fabric would make this top suitable for other body shapes too!

Do you think you rock this style in black, gryffin? Oh, my. I'm thinking tight leather pants and peep toe booties. Heck- I need this top in black!!

Next stop was Las Vegas! I'll showcase a purchase from there soon!

My hubby's aloha shirt is white crisp woven cotton with a Japanese water design in shades of pale green - it's very subtle print. He wears it with white jeans in the summer, pretty much anywhere around Seattle because it can read dressy-casual.

You look stunning in that silky sleeveless top and it goes beautifully with your handbag and sandals. The color is like the Pacific surrounding you! It must be wonderful there as you describe it. I need a redo as I've only been to Kauai and it was in December many years ago and it rained and was cold.

As for the duplicate in black, the way you describe the ensemble, I say yes!

Vicki- so, it appears I'm pretty good at creating wants. I've already sourced some leather/ponte pants...... Insert wicked laugh.... :-). Waikiki is perfect for sitting back and relaxing with a Mai Tai. The beach is sandy and calm. I'd love to see some of the wild surfing beaches though!

Fuzzy - Of course you need this top in black!! I'm a rectange with sloped shoulders but I find halters work well for me. Although, they are really hard to find right now. That is my preferred neckline for formal wear since I have no chest I prefer to show off my back!! But not a dress to be found like that and I've looked. I would love this with leather pants and booties!! I'd pick a longer tunic and add a hip belt for fun too with the same neck. Although I love the flowy hem!! Back to Hawaii, Fuzzy!! Time to shop! We'll send you off with our shopping lists!

Gryffin- yes, this neckline would really soften the shoulders of a rectangle! And I love a deep V at the back- super sexy!!! So, I found some leather/ponte pants.... Haven't found quite the right open toe booties/heeled sandals yet...... Do you have any of the components in your wardrobe ready to assemble this look?

Fuzzy - I have leather leggings. Bloomies, deep sale, over $500 regular for $99. I usualy wear them with booties, kind of stretchy or suede so not too much leather, but I just ordered these EF cone sandals since I'd really like peep toe bootie/sandals don't know if they will work with the leather leggings but should be great with regular. I love the EF coax booties so I am hoping. I have winter toppers that I wear with the leather leggings (the Joie armelio which I wear with the v in back but I'd really like a top like yours, perhaps a little longer length. Maybe a HLish top, not sure. I haven't seen anything as pretty as yours. Attach pic of the EF cone sandals below.

Leather leggings? Perfect!! And what a complete steal!!!! Agree regarding textural elements other than leather in an all black ensemble.

Now to find you the perfect, floaty tank! Do you have Witchery where you live? They often have (variably) embellished tops with a similar neckline at quite a reasonable price! Perhaps one of the other fabbers has some clues!?

Those booties are tres stylish! Here's hoping!!!
