Sveta, these are not completely flat, no. They are about a 1.75 inch heel, maybe even 2 inches. They're a sort of quasi-but-not-quite riding boot style. They are more fitted in the ankle than a true riding style boot. I think this is why they work for dresses. I don't like them as well with tucked in skinnies, something I realized too late. Fortunately, I have had plenty of chances to wear them with skirts and they are going to last me a long time; eventually I will get some flat boots for wearing with the jeans.

It actually warmed up this afternoon!! It is only -12 now!! But SNOWING again, of course.

Yep, snowing here too: not mighty but messy. I hope you are WRONG and we do not have another 4 months of this weather
Makes sense about the boots. Mine are fitted on the ankle but then flare a bit above it which may play a role. Thankfully I have my dressy boots now so I am all sorted for winter skirts!

Room for another on team 'Skirt in Winter'? With the right (low heeled) boots, anything is possible!

You look lovely, Suz. That pink is so beautiful on you. I've got two words for you: "Australian holiday".

Seconding Sharon. YLF Suz not sure which is worse too cold or too hot :).

Suz, I'm going to join the chorus of 'I don't know how you do it' too. You have nailed the fitted Burberry look to perfection and I'm not overly bothered by the sweater either. Love the pattern on your skirt and the colours are all fab!

You look lovely, Suz. I can't begin to imagine what -30 must feel like.

FAB. i can't even imagine wearing a skirt in that temperature! love this, and i can imagine this outfit translating well into the transition from winter to spring (which will happen, and hopefully sooner rather than later)

Are you kidding, Suz??? For the -30 this is glamorous! Love the pop of colors in the sweater and tights, and the skirt too, but leather sleeves are also fun!

Adding to the chorus, Suz - I don't know how you manage to look so good (and so cheerful) in these temperatures. Love the bright orchid colour - sometimes colour can be medicinal!

The denim jacket buttoned right up really does suit you - AND you can turn the collar up and still show off your neck. Fab.

I am speechless, the colors and fit of this outfit, it's one of my all time favorites for you! You really look lovely in berry shades.
