I'm trying to be good about my new year's resolution of more WIWs, more outfit pics! Thinking that I'll post a WIW also spurs me to be more thoughtful about what I wear everyday.

So here it is. Again, another look that might not be the most current in terms of silhouette. But I feel more confident, elegant and comfortable when I'm true to my style preferences. Still, I'll take any feedback and constructive criticism you might have.

Also, sorry my photos are pretty terrible. All I have is an old phone, not much time, and iffy lighting (dark winter, plus I often only have time to take the pic when it's dark).

Wideleg trousers are simply one of my favorite silhouettes ever. I love when they're tailored and done in medium-weight fabrics. This is a brown tweed one from Express. I love the long lines and the sort of siren shape that the leg forms at the bottom, which pics 1 and 2 try to show.

The cardigan is a merino crew-cut from Gap. The green doesn't photograph well; it's a bit richer and more saturated than it looks.

I wore it with a brown and green scarf, but I kept wishing I had a foulard to knot around my neck. Again, surely not a trendy thing, but it would feel like me.

Booties are low-heeled square-toed Sesto Meuccis. They're so comfy and weatherproof.

PS I know the trousers look a teensy bit too long for these shoes. I bought them and had them tailored a couple of years ago, post-pregnancy. Since then I lost a few pounds and they now hang lower in my waist as a result. But I'm not sure I want to shorten them.
