Thinking of my own style has been impacted this year (in response to Angie’s blog post) in relation to COVID and the restrictions.

I firstly realised that I should fully enjoy my wardrobe and despite not needing to dress up every day while working from home, I enjoyed putting outfits together creating new combinations using both dressy and casual pieces that kept my wardrobe on rotation during those months at home.

Secondly, I experienced an increase in creativity that flowed through many aspects of my life. Fresh styling ideas, I started making, created a small earring collection and started working on diversifying my income stream.

This is not to say that 2020 hasn’t been a year of great challenge ...it has. But, it’s also been a year of creativity and new ideas which I think will outwork themselves in my style this coming year.

One project that came during this time was upcycling half slips and turning them into what I call ‘skirted slips’ to wear under dresses and skirts to add length and also create different looks.

So today’s WIW is a simple black dress worn with one of my slips:). This one has a gingham ruffle (I am a little gingham obsessed).

Thanks for reading and looking.
