WIW Hot and Wrinkled - YouLookFab Forum

In light of another thread on our boring outfits, here's what I wore to the doc's office today, which I consider boring and sugary but I like it. It was really hot and this was taken after I got home where I discovered my tee is too sheer. And I'm a wrinkled mess, I know.

This is an Amy Butler pattern skirt my mom made for me, which I love. It's actually an A-line but for some reason I'm pulling it back. I'm self conscious due to gaining so much weight on prednisone. Meh.

And I tottered around feeling like I was wearing sky-high wedges only to see here they aren't so high after all. Funny. Normally I wear flops with this. The wedges are my nod to YLF.

And the hair I drew in pretty much reflects the real hair after sweating and wind styling.

I think it is a very pretty outfit for hot weather. So much better than seeing people in shorts and tanks. You look put together and I like the wedges very much.

You look fresh, cool and covered, even if you were hot! Kudos on wearing the wedges, I am impressed that you skipped the flops for us. I seriously don't see a wrinkle at all here. Give yourself a break!

The skirt is very fresh and summery. I think it is a great casual look while still keeping you somewhat cool. I tend to default to flip-flops too when the weather gets really hot.

The skirt is very pretty and I love that you didn't pair it with a plain white tee, but instead added a tee with some detail. LOL on the wedges. I know. Sometimes wedges make you feel like you are wearing flats when you are towering, and sometimes you feel like you are going to break your neck because they are so unstable, but they are actually just barely there. It's all about the stability of the base.

This is a great Summery outfit! The wedges ground the outfit really well.

Well, T&C, this a hardly a mess -- although I can't speak for your face, since you've scribbled yourself a (cute) new one! Perhaps you could reframe this look a bit in your mind. For example, when you say "sugary" I see "pretty." Not every great look has to be edgy. I also see an outfit that is loose and cool while being, well, covered and appointment appropriate, which is not easy to do. And the shoes are fabulous -- hope you wear these a lot this summer!

And what about trends? Well, you're wearing two that I can see -- no, three! I see wedge shoes, a midi skirt and a floral print. That practically qualifies you for a fashion mag!

Awww, you all are so supportive. I really appreciate all the comments. I'm feeling so gross on these drugs that your comments really mean a lot. You all make some very good points too about looking at this outfit from a different perspective.

Celia, no curly hair but I had my hair up in a floppy knot. The wind rearranged it for me though and it was all over the place after, lol.

I can't see these wrinkles and see-through issues either! What I am seeing is a dame in an extremely pretty skirt and top that looks cool and summery in her espadrilles (gotta love those wedges, though I confess that I love that rose-print skirt even more --- I'm an old-fashioned girl in some ways, and this appeals to the nostalgic side of me).

Mani, I love nostalgic things too! You'd probably like Amy Butler skirts (patterns actually using gorgeous materials).
