Because I am in Australia, Angie's Friday morning post arrives to me on Friday evening. It was fun to see that what I chose to wear for the day fitted with Angie's theme - Hot and Cold colour combinations.
I mainly wear cool tones, but occasionally come across a warm toned item that I love. This gold velvet dress (with pink flowers) purchased in 2018 was one of these items and has been a firm favourite of mine since purchasing it. Being "casual dress Friday" - I can get away with an ensemble that is less corporate than my usual work wear. I am happy to wear this most days of the week unless I am meeting with a new client or attending a formal work event.
I wore the dress and boots to work and then in the evening, when it was chilly, I popped on a black coat and a pink, white and black fluffy scarf. This scarf was love at first sight, it lifts this otherwise boring and serious black coat (from Zara 2017). DS had a school disco, so us parents had to do drop off and pick up - where it was chilly walking across the school oval.
I am making the most of the cooler temps to enjoy wearing my long black suede boots by Paul Green. Whilst I am trying to NOT buy any more black footwear (pretty sure that was a style goal of 2019), these boots were the exception for this winter and they have been winners - comfy and cosy. In fact my Paul Green footwear purchases for 2018 & 2019 have been my most worn that I am tempted to cut back on my footwear purchases and save my money to buy mainly that brand - comfy feet are happy feet.
I am happy to add warm colours and tones into my wardrobe, but like to do so in a measured way so that it works back with other items in my wardrobe.
