WIW: Holiday party edition - YouLookFab Forum

I went to my husband's office holiday party on Friday night. It kind of snuck up on me, so I ended up throwing something together at the last minute with the same dress I wore to this last year. I realized I couldn't remember in the least what anyone wore to this in prior years, so they probably wouldn't notice I'm re-wearing a dress, especially since it's a fairly simple LBD. Changed up the accessories a little, though, so I wouldn't feel like it was a complete retread.

I actually bought the necklace collected below at the last minute to wear with the dress, but thought it looked a little off with it. I brought it to the meetup to maybe return while I was at the mall, but decided (with everyone's help) to keep it after all. Looking forward to finding an excuse to wear it soon!

You look beautiful! I am sure no one remembered that dress because they would have been focused on your pretty smile. The overall effect is elegant! And that lady bug necklace is really neat -- I hope you get to wear it another time on the holidays.

The necklace is pretty - I also hope you cna find occasions to wear it soon. If you wear white button down shirts it woujld look great in the open collar.

Very pretty aubergine. I had the same issue last week and wore a dress I've worn before (not sure why that should be an issue). I couldn't remember what I had worn the last two years so figured no one else would either. Your earrings are really pretty too.

Lucky you to look so good in black! That's the beauty of an LBD. You can wear it over and over again with different accessories to change up your look. I love this year's rendition. You look terrific!

Thanks, everyone! Yay for versatile LBDs! Who knows -- maybe I'll end up wearing it to this thing next year too. This one was something like $30 on sale at Ann Taylor last year, so definitely a good deal. I actually just realized my link to the dress from last year still works, even though it's sold out, so here it is in Finds in case anyone wants a better picture of it.

You look great! I think we sometimes put unnecessary emphasis on "new" when nobody but ourselves cares. I think it makes so much sense to rewear one super great dress (like your LBD) than to try to buy a new one just for the novelty. Well done!
