I've been back from Japan since Monday but have been super busy with errands and holiday things (not to mention sleeping all day and staying up all night because of jet lag!). I hope everyone has been having a great holiday so far!
Anyway, this is the outfit that I wore to a small family holiday gathering and the Boston Pops Christmas concert. I was a little bit overdressed (compared to my companions anyway) but I really wanted to wear my bubble skirt. This time around, I wore it with my ubiquitous Halogen floral sweater, tucked in because you really can't wear untucked longer tops with this bubble skirt. Since it is the holidays, it's a no brainer to use one of my 3 red purses. This is the largest one, since the other two were not big enough to fit the boots and umbrella that I was carrying around.
As to why I was carrying my boots around? Well, I actually had to go run a bunch of errands as well as stop by the lab before the party, and I didn't have time to go home in between. So I swapped the bubble skirt for my baggy shorts and the kitten heels for my combat boots, and wore that during the day. Then I changed into the skirt and heels in the bathroom at work and went off to my evening events. Worked perfectly. I wouldn't normally wear such sheer hose in a casual shorts-and-boots outfit but it actually worked out really well here, I thought.
Happy holidays, everyone!
