WIW: Hi-lo sweater and galaxy skirt; slouchy pants and citron

This is the Club Monaco sweater in Angie's blog post! Worn with Topshop galaxy skirt and burgundy Docs. I need more warm tights in different colors...

Yesterday's WIW: thrifted j. crew pants (sized way up), citron sweater, and wore it with DV Joust booties. Felt much better in this than in last week's slouchy pants and cardigan debacle.

I love the slouchy trouser and sweater look - I think because the sweater is sleek that it works with the slouch pant. And the pants aren't baggy.. That citron is amazing for you.

Gosh, I love both of these!

Maybe I should just get those same burgundy Docs, too. It's been such a pain finding burgundy shoes. Although I'm gonna start feeling bad for ripping off all your shoe choices!

I love that galaxy print. Little Zap would steal them right off your hot little hands. I'd love to find nice burgundy footsies too, so I'm on Rae's camp.

The citron is just incredible in you! And I'm not sure how you got J. Crew pants to look slouchy and not simply too big. I feel that's wardrobe skill.

I have a sudden desire to see #1 with a chunky sweater, to see how that would look...

LOVE your slouchy trouser outfit! To me, this is how slouchy should look - hands down.

The citron outfit , #2, is KILLER. (*imagining no house shoes*)

I'm not sure about the proportions in #1. The tights with the booties against the galaxy print creates lots of horizontal lines that to my eye seem less harmonizing. But the light in the photo and the way you are standing could be accentuating those proportions, Una. I'm sure that the outfit looked more cohesive irl.

Thanks, Angie - and sorry about the house shoes! I really liked wearing this, and there is room for layers with these pants. I think you are absolutely right about the lines, and the dark tights I had on before these were even worse. I think burgundy tights would have worked best, but I had to throw them out because the waist was so stretched out... That's why I need new tights! What would you suggest to make this better?

Rachylou, these were thrifted and I think they are some older model of "city fit" j. crew pants (they may even be ankle pants for tall people!)...

Shannon, I did! In fact, I posted an outfit with it a while ago, with this same sweater. I love the colors of the new version too!

I love 2. OH, that looks so good on you. I love the colour of the sweater in 1 on you, but I think the tights and boots need tweaking.

Well I adore #2 (fingers covering your house shoes) and love the skirt and sweater in #1 but after reading the comments want to see different boots and/or tights.
