WIW: Helmut Lang skirt

I really have not been on here all day! My son had his book battle - his team came in 9th out of 58 schools. He was disappointed but I was really proud because it took a lot of courage to do it.

Anyway, I wore my own new warrior skirt with an old black cashmere sweater. Is this boring? I love the skirt - it's so stretchy and light it feels like wearing a sarong!

Love it. I think this definitely falls into the Strong and Simple category and illustrates why I've been so hot for pullovers lately - so great for the menswear/tomboy element without much effort, real or visual. I'm curious to see if the skirt will turn out like the drop-waist dress that goes from Alaska to HI without breaking a sweat.

Rae, I hope so too! I am wearing fleecelined tights underneath or I'd be freezing - but I don't think it's too summery to wear now because the colors are very winter.

What a perfect outfit! I love the arc of the asymmetrical skirt echoing the arc of the half-tucked sweater, and the raspberry and black of your hair echoing the pink and black of your skirt. You always manage to make a statement even with the most streamlined and minimal outfits! YLF!

There's a wool one? No, this is stretchy mesh of some kind. Or maybe it is part wool? I will look. This is sold out at Nordstrom or I'd post a link!

Well, that's it! I paid $80 for it after using a Reward. Shows how much I pay attention. It's very thin material, but glad to know it's got some wool.

I have such a Helmut Lang weakness. Just bought a new HL dress (on vacation this week), in grey with a similar print to yours. I should try it out with a sweater as it is fairly skimpy up top. It would be nice to be able to break it out before July, lol. Wouldn't be able to tuck though. Thank you for the inspiration!
