WIW: Heading off to the ophthalmologist

I'm heading to my appointment with the ophthalmologist. I have a genetic link to adult onset macular degeneration so need to have a visual acuity test annually.

Nothing fancy today - going for comfort as I have a fair bit of running around to do before and after my appointment. Last day off from work so making sure I get everything done that needs to be done.

I'm wearing my black button down shirt with a new idea for me - this shirt does not button all the way to the top but I'm making it look more that way by wearing a shorter black/metal necklace over top to keep the collar together. I've paired the shirt with my Gap L&L's (medium wash), my black booties and then over top, I've added my Club Monaco jacket/cape thingy that I got at my consignment shop in December and have been waiting for warm enough weather to wear. I love the 3/4 length sleeves and big collar on this jacket, as well as the cropped length. I'm wearing my Aldo polka dot cross-body bag and away I go....

Shannon, I hope your opthmalogist appt. goes well, but know you look fab as usual! I love the black metal necklace with your button-down (which fits great, btw), and your cape is adorable. I love that cross-body bag, too. I wonder if Aldo has any left, hmmm

You look lovely! That shirt is really pretty you really amped it up with the necklace! Loving that lipstick on you! Good luck at the opthomologist! I go yearly also because I have what is termed a "nevi" in my left eye. It looks like a freckle and I've always had it but they keep an eye on it.

Appointment was so-so - results were worse than last year but I won't know how bad until my doc calls me to discuss. It is what it is.

Ugh. So sorry about your eyes. It's a scary situation to be in. My mother has a detached retina (and is legally blind) and I am at higher risk for this, too, so I know a bit how you feel.

You LOOK sensations, though. Black is such a good friend to you!

Sarah - you should see if Aldo still has it. It was only $40 (if I recall correctly) and they also had a larger satchel size, although I love this cross body for when I'm shopping. It keeps my hands free to fondle clothes! If they don't have it in the store, they may still have it on their website. This was an Angie recommendation and one of my favourite purchases.

Shannon, I'm late posting here, but I bought the bag, too, and I love seeing it on you here. I'm sorry to hear about the MD issue (my hubs has a similar issue with his family, too, and gets checked). I love this classic casual look with the black shirt and your red lipstick is SO pretty. What shade is it? As for the eyes, you're doing what you need to do and staying on top of it.

Hey Vicki - it's The Body Shop red #52 and is my favourite lipstick of all time! I love their lipsticks as they have beeswax in them and totally moisturize your lips while wearing it. It's got a hint of orange in it so that it's not so blood-like looking. Glad you like the outfit!
