WIW: Hart culottes and new/old denim jacket.

I received my Hart culottes on Friday and I have been wearing them all weekend. They are extremely comfortable although I think they would look better on a more rectangular shaped silhouette.
Do you think they look frumpy with flats? They would probably look better with a bit of a heel but I just wanted to feel comfortable.
The denim jacket is very old but it is in good condition. Do you think that length might work with a dress or skirt?
My photographer was getting tired and wanted to watch his soccer match so the pictures with the dress did not come out so nice but that was all I could get, with weird expression and all.
Do you think the culottes look frumpy stumpy with the flats? Am I kidding myself and going into fashionless comfort?
Should I look into a different denim jacket to wear with dresses?

I like the culottes with the oxfords! It looks kind of nerdy-chic to me; not sure how to describe it, but I think oxfords are a good choice. I love the dress outfit with the oxfords and the jean jacket. Super cute way to dress down the frock. I think the jean jacket is a good length with the dress.

Thanks, Firecracker. That's good because it means I don't have to shop for another denim jacket to wear with dresses.

Just adding that I love your description of nerdy chic, both parts of it!
Now I will need to enroll help in figuring out what the full nerdy chic style is... Maybe that's my style?

I like the denim culottes and love how you TUCKED the top with them to lengthen the leg line. Fashionable and comfy. They look great with the oxfords. (Paul Green I see - and a top pick. Aren't they heavenly on the foot?)

I do think you need an updated denim jacket though. Something about the bust fit here is off.

Gorgeous sheath, and I also think you'd look amazing in a haute baseball cap.

I really like the tucked shirt and the culottes. I think the oxfords work well with it. Agree with Angie on the jacket. It's amazing how small details of cut can make a difference.

Denim jacket. This one is sentimental because I found it in my Mom's closet when I was going through her things. It is from my teenage years and I am happy that I can still wear it although I agree about the fit of the top.
What is an haute baseball cap? Is it like an equestrian cap? Can you show me one?
pG shoes are the best and very dangerous, too. Once you get a pair and you wear it you don't like anything else.
The doggy sends you kisses back, he would love to meet you although he does not look very interested in posing for pictures.
