I picked this out this outfit last night when I was so exhausted I couldn't think, hence the FFBO. (My ability to think in the morning is even less.) For a plain and unimaginative outfit, it made me really happy all day! I wasn't sure why. I was happy with my hair and (new) makeup. Also, Okalas make everything better! I've had the pants and cardi (Angie pick) for a year or two, but they are still available!

Do you think it's okay that the pant legs covered the ankle strap? They showed when I was sitting down!

This is perfection for plain and unimaginative! Very classic yet modern because of the ankle strap pumps. I would roll the pants a wee bit more to show a sliver of skin between the ankle strap and the pant hem. It all looks doable in my head but I suck at getting the roll right! So I understand if you feel comfortable in this

Yes, Lyn, you seriously do! I think you will be amazed at how much you love them! And even though you have black hair if you only get one pair, I say get the nude. They are magical and I think would tone well with your skin.

Neel, I tried to flip up the hems of the pants, but I thought the result was awkward. Another time I'll post that view. (Need to remember to take a pic of everything that goes into the decision making process....)

Wow! I'm not sure if you always had this ability to put together such a fab outfit without thinking. I'm not saying I've seen you in less than fab outfits. I'm saying this because even though I would probably have to put some thought into looking this fab, it is so much easier for me to look good with less thought and effort since joining YLF. I have learned so much that hopefully some of it goes on autopilot when I'm tired or rushed.

As for the pant length, they appear to be one of Angie's preferred length for cropped pants, even though you can't see the strap. I don't think you need to. With the shorter length of crop you need the strap, in a close color, to create more length.

Hi Elle, absolutely! The formula is one which I've used for many years: black & white bottom + black top + black shoe. I think that's why it was a FFBO for me. But Angie and the forum are helping me to stock pieces in my closet that--even thought they're not actually that mind-bending--I never would have picked myself in a million years. Such as a slight waterfall linen cardi or the Okalas. Or even a more fluid tee--not sure when I would have picked up on this trend. It just helps to have pieces that work better, and I owe that all to ylf!

Oh the okalas are just perfect on you. You look very classy and nicely put together in this outfit. The pants fit you so well. I think this is what one needs when dressing up in a hurry. Well fitting wardrobe items.

That outift is so perfect! The colors are low-key but it reeks of that simple sophistication that I'm always striving for. Okalas really do make everything better. I wear my pants covering the straps too. They show when I walk or sit, and I like that subtlety. You look fab, and I hope you feel revived soon. Have a Starbucks on me.

This is a terrific FFBO, the length of the pants with the Okalas looks pretty good to me. I think you can wear the Okalas without showing the ankle straps all the time – I see your pants have a notch on the side seam, so they would probably need at least two rolls to hold and that might be too high... I can't see your new makeup in these photos, but you look great – maybe you are sporting the natural look!

Really lovely! I can see why it's a FFBO, it works wonderfully. Great classic look with updated details. I don't mind the full length pants here (as you said the strap shows when you sit, and they're not thaaaaat long), though they will probably look good rolled too. You're also making me realize that I need to send my pair of those pants back; they fit you beautifully and mine don't fit nearly so well, so I should move on to the next fabulous thing.

Oh, yes, the shoes really look great with this outfit. What a fantastic FFBO! I can't see the makeup, but you look terrific. It's fun to have new makeup--I like how it feels to refresh my look, even if it's not really noticeable to others.
