WIW : Grown Up Work Style

A couple of work outfits! Monday I had meetings and Tuesday I was giving a presentation. I’m not a suit person so aimed for interesting and professional. Actually loved both of these and will definitely repeat

1.
Dress and Kimono by Aussie label Lulu Manna. Kimono from last Summer and Dress this year.

2
Top is local (based in my town) designer Mimi The Label and pants are Shortlist, both current season.

Sandals are in their second summer I think. Cheapies but I love them. Planning on wearing them into the ground lol.

Thanks Jane I made a decision nearly 12 months ago to buy ethically produced fashion and focusing on locally made is a great way to do that. We have so many amazing people making beautiful clothing on our doorstep

Both so fab and interesting outfits, as usual! Esp. love the kimono but that local designer top is so different! I have bought me a simmilar but block heeled lace up sandal and really loved them. (I recently lost my Dear Mom:-(((... and I was not in the mood of wearing colors-not even whites!!- all this summer- but they did occasionall lift my spirits adding some interest to my all black (mourning) outfits....)

Both ourfits are wonderful. Particularly love the first. Perfect elegant kimono. The proportions with the dress are perfect. Very professional, but interesting and unique. Also memorable. You clearly would stand out in the pack, but in the best possible way. That's often difficult to do clothes wise but you always nail it!! Second outfit is also great. Very EF in feel and you know I feel about her!! Super adorable sandals. They elevate any outfit.

Wow, I love how you've managed to nail the architectural, avant-garde, minimalist look whilst still looking professional.

I've always wanted to dress like this, but I'm too curvy, curly haired & colour addicted to pull it off. It's refreshing to see how you've used white to balance out the black though, as well as a bold red lip. Your hair looks sleek & works with the look, too. I'll be taking notes!

Lol Gryffin, I adore EF designs and spend more time than I should confess to, pouring over pics on the internet and watching her little videos! The items are worth the money but then add shipping and it all becomes a bit much, so I seek out like minded designers here and do my best

Thanks so much Angie The Kimono is from last summer and I LOVE it. Works as a great cover up over swimmers too! Not sure I'll share that one tho lol.

Well I would be wowed if you turned up to work looking like that. I'm still hoping to shop ethically too. Have only bought 2 things since then, both from local businesses based in NZ but they do still make in China. Over time will try to buy more NZ made. Slowing my purchases is the most sustainable thing I've done so far.

Lyn thank you. The bangle is 3D printed and I sometimes wear it as a necklace on a leather strap:)

Jenni it's a slow process. I follow some great New Zealand labels producing locally, happy to share that info with you xx
