WIW: grey for a grey day - YouLookFab Forum

Hi all, Everyone doing ok?

it is grey here, rainy. But I wore grey because i have been dying to wear my new sweater tank from H&M

I matched it with charcoal skinnies, and a light grey cardigan.

I tried to belt it but it didn't work for me. Any idea why? I see others doing belts over cardigans?

I am showing all the necklaces, but I choose grey pearls in the end

Rubic: classic (cardigan and slacks), masculine (boots and cardigan), feminine (pearls and shape of the tank), surprise (the glitter in the tank)

I felt good! Much better than monday! a 10 on the H scale!

The boots are ilse jacobsen, which are required attire for women in Oslo, along with a black leather jacket and skinny jeans. This year, taupe/sand chunky heel booties are also required but I haven't fallen yet! And my white rain coat, I can proudly say I bought mine 2 years ago, but I am sooooo on trend for this year! I love how we all dress alike! (not really, but hard to avoid some days)

That grey looks almost silver--it's lovely on you. I like the texture of the tank. It plays nicely with the cardi. I'm thinking you might need a slightly longer cardi to belt--but that's just a guess. YLF!

Hmm, a longer cardi.. I will go take a look at the inspiration pictures again. You are probably right about that!

I think you need a longer cardi and possibly a wider belt if you want to belt it. I like to have the bottom part below the belt be almost as long as (or longer than) the top part above the belt, otherwise the proportions look off to me.

Jayne, I can see why you couldn't wait to wear that lovely sparkly tank! As others have said the color looks wonderful on you and it plays so well with the cardi (another vote for leaving off the belt in this situation). But what I'm really noticing is how awesome you look in an open neckline like this. I'm used to seeing you in collars, but once it warms up, I hope you'll try some more knits like this. You have a lovely neckline and your delicate bone structure is really highlighted in this outfit.

Silver is a great colour on you. I like the necklace you decided to wear with the final outfit. I think the others are right & the cardi is too short to belt. The silver top is a great dress up/ down top & I'd love to see you wearing it glammed up for a date night.

Pretty pretty! And then the boots are so "don't mess with me" lol. Love the play betwen top and shoe. Silver grey is so nice for you and goes with all the necklaces - I like the first and third best.
What you might try with that outfit again is belting under the cardi - maybe with a slightly wider belt or a colored belt? It's so hard to belt cardis over the outside. But I don't think it needed a belt at all.

Love #1 (stunning necklace!), and agree it looks much better without the belt. Almost hate to say it but I think taupe/sand chunky heel booties would be lovely with this for warmer weather :}

You absolutely glow in #1 - love the necklace and colors on you. I also love #6 with the parka. I have trouble belting over cardis too since I little/no defined waist (I'm an apple/8)
