WIW: Grey and Olive, to run a few errands

I ran a few errands, and it was almost like pre pandemic times, except for the masks, plexiglass, etc. Our area is not doing well WRT the virus. I went to the library and it was to the walk up window, and to the thrift store where I’m a member, but it was just to drop off stuff for the pantry and newspapers for the shop. It’s not fully open, and the health department only allows merchandise donations twice a week.

I’m wearing a new zip up top, and new boots. I’ve had the bag for years and years, but it’s still in great condition. The top is for UV protection, but I just like having another layer that isn’t heavy. Frye and Co is, I think, a lower line of Frye. I was so happy to find olive boots. The mask is of polar bears (you know how much I like them) in their winter-in-Florida clothes.

I LOVE your boots! And, your polar bears are so fun! Grey and olive is a soothing combo, and the pop of yellow just adds so much interest to it!

Our virus numbers are terrible, too. Our state announced new restrictions today It is going to be a long winter...

Nemosmom, thank you! I love the boots. The olive isn’t too dark. Re the mask: I’ve noticed people seem to be going serious and plain with their masks. The ones I’ve made are silly and my husband happily wears them. Of course, he’s retired.

Long winter here too. Back to only groups of 6 or less meeting outside. No indoor eating and short hours for bars and breweries. I also LOVE your boots and grey with olive and yellow. My niece whose mother died of Corona this summer, is quite depressed. So is my DSIL who lost her husband to the virus and is recovering herself. She is having organ tests this week and donating plasma twice a month, but so sad. The bright colors must be uplifting to those who see you.

You look fab! Learned something new--I didn't know Frye had another line. Those boots look terrific with the grey. Hard to believe it's puffer coat season already. I wore a poncho today and had to take it off by 10 am. It's trying to cool off around here...

Kelly, thank you! It got very cold, I think 23F yesterday morning. These boots have a rubber sole whereas most of my Frye boots have leather soles.

Nice ! Why have I never thought to pair gray and olive ? I love those olive boots - really missing having a pair this fall .

I really feel for everyone living in COVID hotspots. So troubling. I'm in an Australian city that hasn't had any community transmission for a couple of months. Things are kind of normal but also not, everyone is still edgy.

People incoming from other states or returning to Australia from overseas have to quarantine, which has kept us safe. Unfortunately it also means we can't travel to other states, so I haven't seen my elderly parents since Xmas. I'm sure most other people around the world are in the same situation.

Because there is no community transmission we only wear masks for close appointments eg doctors appointments. When I do, I wear a bright mask, it is a fun contrast to my fairly neutral clothes. I LOVE your polar bears.

Lisa, thank you. Grey and olive are my personal colors - hair and eyes. You have a great look going with black and skulls. I never understood skulls until I saw your daughter’s artwork. I’ve always admired people who could draw. I wish I could.

Lucy, thank you. I want to move to a place where they know what they’re doing, but I can’t travel anywhere! Things may change in January, though. Who knows.

Great color combination and both your boots and mask are terrific! Our virus numbers are down again after 5 or so weeks of a second lockdown, but I know how frustrating it is to see how quickly things can turn around.

I associate soft grey color with home, being off work and having a relaxing time. It looks great on you with olive boots and fun bright mask - very becoming!

I really like the color combo here. I struggle with olive, maybe I'll give gray a try.

Increase in cases here too. In spite of the anti-mask people, I still see most wearing them when I am out and about, thankfully. It is going to be a very strange holiday season.

Robin, thank you. For me, since I am personally low contrast (hair snd face), I feel best in low contrast outfits. So the boots are not a dark olive.

Avicennia, thank you. It felt brutal here, too. It might have been a combo of smoke and lack of distractions.

Olive boots! Those have been hard to find. I will watch 6pm as I had forgotten about them. I hope when more things open up, to find a cobbler that can put Vibram soles on some of my nice booties that are too slippery. I finally found navy Naturalizer boots at The Rack. Navy was another hard boot or bootie to find. Stay home and stay safe. My biggest worry is that DS in Tokyo is not being careful enough. He is out socializing too much.

Joy, it seems most boots come in black or brown. I have found grey, navy, olive, and, believe it or not, pink. Be safe.
