WIW-Going Mod again in my first pencil skirt and printed polo top

I liked yesterday's mod like outfit so I decided to stick with the theme and try out this print polo shirt (which I was almost regretting buying). Take a look at the close up pic of the print which has playing cards and image of Amy Winehouse in it etc.

I think that wearing it with a streamlined bodycon pencil skirt took away a little of the 'boyish' feel for me. I have tried loads of pencil skirts recently and couldn't seem to find the right one for my height/shape. However I persevered and found this one a few weeks ago in TK Maxx.

Does this outfit work for me? Would love to hear any opinions/suggestions/critiques. Thanks all.

First time I have been in love with a polo. I like how you tucked it in and made it "girly". I also appreciate the tie-in of the black accents. Side note your hair is all types of gorgeous.

That is the coolest polo I've ever seen! I really love how the polo and the skirt have the same black accents--it looks like they were made for each other. Great job pairing them together! I really love the mod look, and it definitely suits you.

Neat! I love the matching black accent stripes on the polo shirt and skirt. Fun print too. Leather jacket and pencil skirt is the perfect combo of ladylike and tough.

That is a REALLY awesome top and I like the pencil skirt with it.

I'm less sure about the top being tightly tucked in to the high waist although I know that's a classic 50's into 60's look (I was watching John Waters' Crybaby last night and geeking over the fashions, especially the way they wear scarves tied around the neck and collars popped. :D), I'd almost be curious to see how a black belt the width of the black striping on the tee would look.

And along the lines of Rabbit's thoughts--what does it look like untucked? It might totally not look right or Mod at all, but I'm just curious how it would go without the defined waist.

My thought was similar to rabbit and ambergreens's - I like the top tucked when you're wearing the jacket, but not so much without. Maybe add a wide belt worn at the natural waist? The print is fun and I like the color combos.

Saw your picture when I changed the layout of the forum. Just wanted to say I love that pencil skirt. It looks great reminds me of a dress I used to have that had that design.

I also really like the shirt pattern and skirt colors together. Looks "matchy" in a good way. Might try loosening up the tuck of the shirt--not a semi-tuck, but just a tad of blousing--also a try with a belt.
