Hello all!
I’ve been creeping in the forum a bit, but haven’t been posting much due to some major life changes. We bought and moved into our dream house this past June, and my family and I have been going through some health challenges at the same time, so it’s been busy.

Moving from our old house really helped me see how big my wardrobe actually is. Despite moving into a house that Is 3x the size with 10 closets, I have filled every one. So I’m really going light on shopping these days.

Here is a rare new purchase - floral pants from Anthropologie with a J Crew herringbone blazer and Adidas gazelles bought last year. I’m really feeling pulled to colour days. I’m inspired by the pinstripe lining in the blazer AndMay try these pants with my pinstripe Oxford shirt next time.

Also a couple of bonus sari photos from ones I’ve worn lately.

So great to see you Roxanna! I love the outfit - so pretty , fresh and optimistic :). I’m actually going the other way and am craving quieter earthy neutrals . Could just be the upcoming change of season but I’m done with bright and intense colour for now . Exciting news about your house !

Congratulations on your dream home! That's very exciting, and I am envious of ten closets!

The outfit pics are funny because I loved the first, and then I saw the blue sari, and then the pink/coral was even better... until I saw the green! In other words, I love ALL of these outfits, and you look amazing in colour and wear it well.

Roxanna, great to see you! Congrats on the house and I’m wishing a speedy and positive resolution to the family health issues.

LOVE the palazzo pants outfit, actually I very much covet those pants! So cool paired with the sneakers. As always, your saris are gorgeous too. Im especially drawn to the green.

Like many I tend to wear more color in the summer and am enjoying it — experimenting with summer pattern mixing too. I’m pondering more warm/cool mixes for autumn.

Im curious how your sari closet relates to your western closet. Do you ever take inspiration from color combinations in your saris when putting together western outfits? - that sort of thing. Im thinking there must be a lot of thought and skill that goes into designing the color combinations and embellishments of saris and have just got curious about any theory or convention behind that.

Oh, when you said colour, you meant colour! I think my favourite of the saris is the pink and blue (2)… and that you look rather statuesque and grecian in 3(!)

I feel less colourful these days; ironically, because I love crazy colour. It’s all because of my bakery wear. I discovered phone pocket leggings and my bright orange Victoria Beckham skirts are not getting as much wear

The saris are extraordinary on you. My mother spent some time on India in her 70s and loved wearing a sari. She said they made her stand up straight so the fabric would fall correctly.

Your saris are just stunning.

I’d like to get a bunch of new closets. We remodeled our house over twenty years ago and added some closet space . It was nice, but not enough. I guess that means I need to weed out some of my stuff.

So nice to see you posting such inspirational eye candy! Hold onto that pink jacket, since pink will be trending BIG over the next season or two.

I started the year off in a subdued mood, but thrifted some joy recently. https://youlookfab.com/finds/c.....tion=10783 (see the last two items in my ‘New in 2022’ collection.) I’d like to find some cool weather orange (sweater? hat?) to mix up with the merlot and tan in my closet this winter.

It's so hard to pick a favourite because they are all beautiful, your outfits are always so inspiring. You need extra storage to accommodate your stunning sari collection and extensive wardrobe.

Earth tones and beautiful prints have been everywhere at retail and I have enjoyed adding these into my closet, but have resolved that I will not buy any more. I was quite proud of myself for not buying a stunning patterned sweater and getting these two solids - lilac and blue - which work so well to balance out my wardrobe and I am enjoying wearing these Spring tones as we get to the end of Winter here in Australia. The colour I am really crushing on at the moment is electric blue or a bright cobalt!

10 closets?!? Where is this Toronto closet nirvana (don’t actually answer! but based on pictures I live in a semi similar to your old place, so I understand lack of closets). Congratulations on your move and celebrate in full colour!

Gorgeous. Do all the sari pix mean you wear them in your daily life? That’s cool.

I do wear color, have recently reached back to the cobalt & royal blues I used to wear (hi 5 Bijou!), have been noticing chartreuse and purple creeping up in my wardrobe, along with peach, pinks, and pastels. But the big change is that in addition to complimentary color mixes I’ve always thought of as basic, I’m putting warm colors together.

My son leaves for college soon. I’m looking forward to the empty wardrobe space eliminating clothing runs to the cellar.

Always so lovely to see you! Congrats on the move, and I hope things calm down for you now. You look gorgeous as ever, especially in those beautiful saris! I’ve loved saris ever since I was young and two of our new neighborhood families were recently immigrated from India. It was the first I’d seen those fabrics and I was smitten. I remember one of the moms teaching me how to wrap one. It makes me wonder where those families are now — we lost touch after they moved away.

@SarahD8: I am very inspired by the colour combinations and patterns in my saris and indian wear, and frequently mimic those colour combos in my Western wear (or often wear Indian shawls and scarves with my western wear)

@Angie, @Bijou - I have been loving how you unabasshedly wear colour and it has inspired me to bring more colour back into my life after years of neutrals (which I still love!)

@Carla - I never thought I would be drawn to pink, but after a recent thrifting run of pink this past winter, i just fell into it. I have loved your latest thrifting treasures!

@Brooklyn - good point about the extra closet space! I keep my saris folded in a spare closet, and my Indian suits hung in the same closet.

@Jules - yes! I had a very small detached house in midtown. we moved to North York now - still close and central, but closer to family and some room to spread out for my very noisy children

@SF: I do not wear saris in daily life; only to mosque on special days (I was leading a monthly ceremony, so I wore one monthly for a few years.) I do love taking them out, but couldn't imagine wearing them in my daily life!

What lovely pictures and pleased you see you, congratulations on the new home- and hoping the health challenges improve.

The colour I want to add this summer is Kelly green- ideally a top and shoes or a dress - maybe patterned. A small complement.
