WIW: Gingham, and exploded Gingham

I only worked three days this week. Migraines again - yuck! In any case, I am enjoying my S/S wardrobe, and finding that I have so many great ways to create outfits. No need for more shopping so my No Shop June is going well - so far.

1. J Crew Gingham Boy shirt, J Crew Matchstick Jeans, Ann Taylor scarf, Via Spiga perforated leather sneakers

2. I added my Bobeau sleeveless vest. Not sure about this? Does it look too much like a superhero cape?

3. Vince Camuto dress, 1 State sleeveless jacket, Chie Mahare shoes

4. Trina Turk exploded ginham silk top, J Crew No. 2 pencil skirt, EF linen topper, Fly London Yesk sandals

I love how summery each outfit looks. I don't think that your vest looks like a cape, but I wonder if it might be a bit too dark with your lighter colored pants and top.

And I'm sorry to hear about your migraines! I hope you can find some relief.

I used to have terrible migraines in my early to mid 40s. I actually lost a job because I was out for 2 weeks. My heart goes out to you.

I like all of these! I prefer outfit 1 without the long vest, I feel the vest requires a simpler top underneath it, for example a top made out of similar drape-y fabric without a pattern.

Once again, lovely outfits! No you don't look like a super hero lol, but a lighter color would work better. The last two outfits are knock outs!

What a great set of outfits! You look gorgeous in each one. These colors are so fresh. I also prefer outfit 1 without the vest, but I do think it looks harmonious, as it picks up the dark tone in the scarf. I love the pattern-mixing of the scarf and gingham. I have to gush about that Trina Turk top on you, though. Wow, what a gorgeous print and style, so flattering on you!
So sorry to hear about your migraine. I have them, too. No fun (serious understatement, I know). My acupuncturist has recently started treating me for them. I think it may be working.

Love the continuity of the color story here. As others have said, I perfer #1 without the vest, let the mint color be the star, and for thst reason, I'd think I'd prefer it without the scarf as well ( but then again, I'm pretty minimalist, so take thst comment with a grain of salt)

Lovely outfits! I think that these are so wonderful! I am another vote for the first outfit without the vest for all of the reasons others mentioned, but I really admire your desire to try things out. That is the only way to see what works. Awesome!

I'm so sorry to hear about your migraines. I suffer from them too. I prefer #1/#2 without the vest, and #3 without the topper. #4 is gorgeous, I love the color of the skirt.

The navy vest loses! No problem there. I was experimenting and it definitely didn't work with this top.

CocoLion, I'm sorry to hear that you actually lost a job secondary to your migraines. They are very disabling at times. I have left one position on my own because I felt my ability to be consistently available was too compromised for what the job required. It's not an issue with my current work, but I often worry that my employers will become frustrated about my migraines because they are so incapacitating, and I have been hospitalized and missed as much as a month of work at a time. So far, I have very understanding administrators. It may help that I'm in a profession in short supply. :-).

Karie, I also like the dress in 3 better without the topper but was a little worried it would look unprofessional, maybe a bit too slinky? So I added the topper. Maybe I'm wrong on that? Not sure? (I was working with adolescent boys that day).

Such delicious colours! You're like a ray of sunshine! In #1 the minty tone of the gingham really suits you and I love how the dark rims of your glasses echo the dark tone in your scarf. As others have said too, I'm not fond of the vest in #2 either I'm afraid. Love #3, fab vest and dress. #4 is so fresh and I like the print on your layered top.
