Thanks all, for your encouragement and responses to my recent request for advice on what to wear to a gallery opening reception. It was a fun party, I felt pretty and didn’t say anything dumb, so a great night! I made a point to introduce myself and meet many other artists, as the main gallery held another show including over 20 artists.

The attire ranged from jeans and Keens to sharp, near-formal suits and cocktail dresses. The curator wore a lovely knee length tunic (over cropped leggings), that was cotton, white with some red and black Asian designs, and what struck me most was the simplicity and how it was perfectly pressed. Several of the women artists wore variations of black chiffon tunics or wrap dresses with chunky or colorful jewelry or kimono toppers. Men chose T-shirt’s, dress shirts, Hawaiian or guayabera shirts, berets, fedoras, suits, you name it. I had fun just people-watching, too! Thanks again.

ETA If I’d looked at this photo right away, that my husband took when we got there, I would’ve immediately straightened out my top. Hope it adjusted itself...
