I was looking forward to wearing my new EF ponte pants, EF silk blouse and green Aquatalia boots today. The weather was perfect for this ensemble. I put on the never before worn ponte pants and, bam, the seam down the thigh was separating (It looks like it is sewn with a serge machine and the stitches are loose. I included a photo where I stuffed the pants so you can see the gap. It isn't a hole, just a separation and there are still connecting threads.) With little time to spare, I hunted quickly in the closet for something else that would work. I found a pair of ecru narrow wale cords. I rolled the cuffs, snapped some pics, and then decided that my J Crew puffer might work with it as well. I added a scarf for some interest and headed out the door.

In the end, I liked this version better than with the ponte pants! I think it may be one of my better looks. What do you think?
