Yesterday was another weekend day of running errands and then having a quick lunch out with my boyfriend. It was a little bit warmer out yesterday so I figured capri length jeans were do-able as long as I went with a closed toe shoe and something warmer up top. Rather than go my usual route of t-shirt with a moto jacket over it I decided I'd take the adorable J. Crew cashmere froggie sweater I picked up for $20 at last month's Santa Monica flea market for a spin.

I don't usually wear pastels at all. For some reason when I wear them I always sort of feel like I'm dressing for Easter (or that I look like an easter egg. Weird, huh?) In general I rarely ever wear outfits that are head to toe light colors either (mostly because I'm a slob and am sure I'll spill something on them). But in my constant quest to always be pushing myself outside my comfort zone this sweater totally made the cut (largely because of said cute amphibian on its front. Had it been just plain pale blue I'd have walked right by it).

Any-who, Mr. Froggie got paired with my AG Malden capris that hit at a length on me that should definitely make Angie a very happy camper

I measured. They are exactly 6 inches above my ankle and hit just below the widest part of my calves --which are pretty skinny, so "wide" is definitely a relative term.

I actually really like this length as long as the jeans or pants are very fitted on the calf, as is the case here. I view this length more like I would a casual short, though, than a length I'd go with for a more dressed up or non-beat up jeans look.

And since comfort was a big factor in running around town I thought the subtle distressed gold finish of my Born oxfords would go well with the pastel froggie and distressed jeans. (these are the same oxfords I also have in distressed gray/black. I highly recommend them as they are seriously some of the most comfortable shoes I own and one of only a few pairs I can wear completely sock-less without my fussy feet getting all chafed about it.

Nothing really unusual or remarkable or uber stylish about this outfit. I did find, however, that this combo really made me glad I pushed outside my comfort zone with pastels and bought the froggie sweater.

It makes me happy when I put it on and it is the perfect weight of cashmere to keep me warm on those high 60's/low 70s days we have so many of round here.
