Hello lovely Fabbers, a couple of WIW -

Yesterday, the Burberry trench, which I am thinking of having altered. I feel a little bit swamped by it, but I am wary of investing in the alts and then not wearing it as much as I thought. I'm wearing with a new camel bag from Jigsaw, it looks a little bit big but it isn't as big IRL. It is a super size for my commute.

I had a little bit of a spend in Jigsaw, and purchased this bag, along with this merino Jigsaw black cardigan. Kind of loose but lovely fabric.

Then a Whistles dress which is an easy wear, and doesn't crease.

Then today, I am wearing a grey jumper from NewLook - fab value and lovely cropped length for me. With CM culottes. Today I'm wearing with the tie. Then a lovely ring DH bought for me some time ago.

All comments welcome especially if you think the trench is worth altering. Thank you for looking!

Oh wow, beautiful, beautiful, and then more beautiful. Such classic and sophisticated pieces. I do agree the jacket could be altered a touch to get a classic fit, but given that "oversized and belted" is a bit of a look right now, why not wear it like that a while and when that silhouette feels tired for you, look into alterations then. That way you stretch out the expense, and it will be like having another new coat when the time comes!

I think oversized works in this case. Also, leaves room for wearing it over a jacket on a cool day. (Maybe you already have a jacket under?!).

Purposefully oversized was prevalent in ‘street style’ photos from the runway shows.

Yes oversized is a”look” at the moment but I know what you mean about feeling swamped.l suppose it depends how much it’s going to cost to alter it and how good the outcome is likely to be.It would be shame not to wear it as it’s such a fab colour for you.l love your new jigsaw purchases and that Whistles dress looks like it was made with you in mind..

New pieces look great - love the dress with boots and bracelet, so pretty on you.
The trench is costly to alter. Would you consider shortening only or taking in on sides? It's just a smidge too bulky in the waist but you wear it so well .

I like the trench as it is and there is room to pop it over a blazer or bulky sweater. Your ring is lovely and unusual. I cannot see the culottes but the soft grey of the jumper is a great neutral on you.

RunCarla, I have just the light cardigan on beneath but I can very easily wear it with jackets under the trench and that is perfect, really. It is good to know that oversized is a street trench, thank you!

Thank you Slim Cat. I think it is difficult to know where I would stop really on the alterations, I was thinking the length and the sleeves a bit too. But having had everyone's comments, I will probably stay with it is at the moment.
