This is a swing and a miss. I kinda knew that when I put it on but decided to just go with it and see how I felt by the end of the day anyway. Don't get me wrong, I think it looks fine. It's just not quite me.
The top was a clothing swap score. It was the color that drew me in. The style not so much, but I figured maybe it could bring out my springy side? The fit is a bit big, as well. Not so noticeable under the sweater. It looks more baby doll than fitted under the bust like it should.
Went with a very rare red lip, too. Again, why not?
I have red on my shopping list for this year. As a teen it was one of my favorite colors and I'm missing it lately. So hard for me to find just the right fire truck red though.

Any comments welcome. Sharing again after some time away, but for newbies, I am not overly sensitive. I do, though, know my own style, so advice to 'add a scarf' for example will roll right off my back immediately LOL.

I see why you were drawn to the colors of the shirt, and I really like the overall colors in the outfit although the shape of the cardigan looks maybe a little more classic/staid that I associate with you. How does the outfit look with no topper? The shirt doesn't look big to my eye.

I love the red on you!! I can see why the top drew you in, it is a great print. I could see it with a denim jacket or moto as another option, I can't remember what colours in those you have.

I really like the top and love the color combos. I'm wondering if you switched out the red cardigan for something silver or a tougher texture? And I'm curious to see on it's own.

Thanks for the replies! I rarely wear lipcolor so the red is a huge departure but happy to hear it's well received.
As for the outfit, I'm still on the fence. I totally get that not every look needs to be a rock n roll chic one, but as someone who spent a LOT of time wearing just about anything because 'it looked good' on me, it's been important to keep somewhat focused. Add to that, I only get dressed a few times a week now that I'm back in work uniforms. It seems more imperative to really love what I do put on those handful of times. That said, I will keep it and try it again, maybe in high summer over my white shorts and flat sandals?

The colours are all great on you! I see what you mean about the "baby doll" aspect of the top, but it's flattering anyway. And with your white shorts/ sandals it might be just the ticket.

The conservative cut of the cardi is not what I would expect on you, but the color made it work and the print really says *Mo* all over but I can't articulate why. I hope you keep experimenting with red+white.

Now you know I have to say "Add a scarf" just for fun! Ha! Really though, no scarves needed here. I quite like this bit of a departure from the style I'm used to seeing you wear. It's nice to switch things up once in a while. And the red lippie looks fab.

I think it looks good, but I can see a little of why it doesn't feel like the direction you've been going lately. The lower half of the outfit looks more you (and I love the metallic footwear with the white jeans - LOVE!) The upper half, especially the blouse, looks fine but the baby doll cut/wide band at the ribcage is a less modern shape, especially combined with the cardigan. To me, the overall outfit it doesn't scream out "dated" or anything drastic, but the same top in a straight (even if roomy) cut would look more modern when combined with the same items. Is that kind of what you're feeling?
The red looks excellent on you, and the bold lip is a fun change. I like to break out red lipstick every once in a while, too. These days, when I get dressed at 5 AM, I tend to forget to add lipstick to my very basic grab-and-go makeup!

How fun to see the bright red lip on you! You know, I don't think it's the color that's not you, it's the cardigan. I think it's too soft a look paired with the floaty top, and I think I'd personally pair it with a blazer or something with sharper lines.

Mo, you do look terrific in these colors, and with the red lipstick. In the closeup, we can see how wonderfully the lip color brings out the beautiful sea green of your eyes. To make the outfit more you, I would say, try it again with either the cardi or the ballet flats, but not both. The two together are quite classic looking. I can see you rocking this outfit with a moto jacket in place of the cardi, or boots or some tougher looking shoe rather than the flats and looking more characteristically you.

You look, ah, normal, and I know this is a lady uniform. I cannot pull this cardi thing off without looking completely mumsy. You can, but, mumsy....
Thinking a chambray shirt in blue, red, or white would put this in a tougher category. Or a world tunic with ethnic vibe would be boho.

You do look great in red and white, but I can see how the cardigan would feel not quite right -- I don't feel right in them either.

I think if you switched out the cardi for a denim jacket or a moto, it would feel more *you.*
