WIW for xmas eve

It's been a loooooong time since I've posted a WIW here, but I snapped a photo of my christmas eve outfit yesterday so figured I might as well post it.

Featuring my christmas cat sweater, asymmetrical skirt, doc martens, and a year's worth of uncut hair (which is driving me nuts, but I'm not willing to go get it cut right now).

Love how the dark red boots add a festive colour to the mix, & the skirt some festive flounce. Bet it's fun to twirl in!

Also, for some reason the cat on your jumper reminds me of Totoro. Maybe it's the colour, lol?

PS - For too long hair, have you tried the 'faux bob'? I've never done it myself, but I think you're meant to tuck in under then clip it in place, so it looks like your hair is shorter. Tutorials abound online - hope that helps!

You look great! I hear you on long hair! My only solution is to wrap them in a pony tail or french pleat.

Re: the hair. Part of the problem is that my hair is *really* thick. In college we once figured out that my ponytail was fully twice as fat as my roommate’s! It’s ok in winter but in summer it’s really hot. I’ve mostly been wearing it in a ponytail or twist but the problem is that the weight means it starts to hurt after a few hours and I have to take it down. I have weird psychological issues around being forced to wear my hair in braids for years as a child so no braids for me.

But! Silver lining! I discovered the other day that it’s now long enough for pigtails. Which are cute and pretty comfy!

Just for fun the second photo is from last January (in Barcelona. Sigh, remember when we could still do things like travel?) so you can see how much it’s grown!

OMG, Barcelona last January....sigh, indeed....

Your hair grows so fast! And I absolutely get it about the thickness. This is why I wear a pixie! No joke! My hair is so thick that it once took 47 hair pins to make it stay up (sort of) in a gentle and not fancy updo -- and it was only shoulder length! I ended the evening wiht a splitting headache. Ponytails (except really low, loose styles) give me a massive headache by end of day, too. So....

You look cute in the pigtails, though! And your outfit is great. (How could it not be? CAT!)

Oh, your hair is so shiny and pretty!
The last place we visited was also Barcelona, in February 2020. It was the beginning of the pandemic, no cases yet in mainland Spain, but we were concerned and really debated whether we should go or not. I am so glad that we decided to go in the end. I look back on the pictures fondly. I don't know when we'll be able to travel internationally just for fun again.

Great look and great hair. I like the pigtails too. I have fine hair, but I can't stand it in a ponytail or pinned up for more than 3-4 hours either, but lately I've found pigtails aren't so bad.
