1/ my new By Bar oversize dress. It was warm enough so that I could wear it on its own all day. But I tried to style it with a blazer just in case and am unconvinced of the result. Opinions? Suggestions?

2/ linen ankle pants by Zara (> 2 years old) with a white shirt. I used to wear this exact outfit with a beige belt and flats, but I had to get rid of the shoes. Thanks to YLF, I was thinking in complements and found an old navy suede belt that happened to match my navy slip ons perfectly. I’m actually pretty pleased with the result. Except: do the pants look a little dated with the midrise?

3/ navy cigarette trousers with a thrifted bomber style blouse. It felt allright but I think I prefer the blouse with jeans for more textural interest. Sadly I cannot wear this blouse zipped up because the fabric bunches very badly. But it still looks pretty cool open, no? I love the abstract print that looks like someone tossed some watercolors on a piece of fabric; does that have a name??

I like very much these outfits and particularly the dress+ jacket. Perhaps you would like some color in it? The pants do not look dated to me (but I am no expert) and the blouse is very pretty.

I really like 2 and 3. I don’t think the Zara pants look dated. The first outfit has so much potential- and it is nice but I wonder how it would look with a jacket of a different colour or a different neutral? Or even a leopard print pair of boots? Just some tiny detail for a focal point.

3 is my favourite - I love the patterned shirt over the black. What a great look!!

I do like 1 but agree with Jussie that a bold shoe or cuff might look really good. I do like the dress and think the jacket works with it.

I am not sure about the pants in 2 - I think they could do with a tweak - maybe a different belt? I don't know?

#1 is my fave and KILLER. The tonal look with the flat Spring booties is hip and comfy. Very nicely done.

I like your style aesthetic very much and all three of your outfits. Would you wear the dress in #1 over trousers from #3 (or other slim trousers) for a tunic/dress over trousers look?

Thanks for the validation, spring summer is not my easiest season and I’m so glad I seem to be doing allright.
I would try 1 with a color accent but don’t have anything that would work in my closet right now - maybe later.
Also, I have considered wearing the dress over slim fitting trousers (though not the pair from 3), which would be a first for me! We’ll see if I can come up with something when I’m in the mood for experimenting.

Great week! I love #1. How did you end up feeling in it? Pants in #2 don't look dated at all. Really like that those dark elements are navy and not black. A little more color rich. Was surprised to read that the topper in #3 is a shirt, it looks like a jacket! I'd probably just call it an abstract watercolor print

Aida: I did not actually wear 1) except fro my car to my desk, it was warm enough to take thte blazer off the rest of the day :). Felt a little insecure with all the fabric but now that the outfit’s ylf-approved I will try again
