Haven't worn this exact combo before. Not that happy but ran out of time to change. I love Lyn's skirt of course, but have only work it with blue or white so far. I tried my grey suit jacket but the proportions looked wrong - better with a shorter top.

I haven't changed into my MJ pumps yet, and am only wearing them a few hours at a time while I get used to them.

Suggestions and criticism welcome!

The skirt is great on you - I think you were right to go for the shorter top.

This cardi is 4 or 5 years old and has been a FFBO item. I would have preferred long sleeves though, as my office temp fluctuates. I wore it yesterday as well, and at some point put my coat back on!

Anne I think the skirt makes quite a dramatic statement so pairing it with "quieter" tops and toppers works well.

I think I have pinpointed my disquiet about the look - it is the combination of necklines of the cardi and the top.Too fancy, and perhaps the cardi is too open.

Yes, I do think it is "quiet". They are both simple pieces, to me. I like the shape of the cardi on you. The overall look is office casual, which seemspractical and appropriate.

Oh wow, what a gorgeous skirt, Anne!! And it looks fantastic on you! I really like this outfit combo, I agree that a shorter top is a good choice here. This type of subtle A-line skirt usually works best with a shorter top. The red and white look beautiful with the colours in the skirt, and I quite like the two V-necklines on the tops. If you wore the cardi more closed we would see less of the white top, and to my eye, that's what ties the look together (with the white being repeated in the skirt).

Aside from blue, white and red, I could also see the skirt paired with pink, lilac, black, grey, silver...

Rachy I would so love to wear shoes without straps but they just to do not stay on my feet. i am keeping my eyes out for shoes that have nude straps - this effect can work quite well.
