WIW for Valentine’s Day

I wore second hand velvet…floral skirt and top, fabric shoes, beaded small bag with chain handle. Is this skirt too short? Would darker stockings be better?

Not too short imo. I think it’s beautiful and looks beautiful on. I feel like either color hose/stockings would work well, looks good how you have it and black tights or hose would look good too.

The burgundy colors definitely look harmonious and I think you could wear shades of purple, mauve, berries …
pretty shoes too for the nude hose. If darker tights, I’d probably do a deeper burgundy or black shoe.

Great skirt length!
Hose are fine just as you have them, unless you want to do something more wintry/ warm if you might be outdoors for more than a minute or run cold, as I do! So I think you’ve got some good outfit options with these colors.

Thank you all for the encouragement. You make me glad I added this skirt and other burgundy pieces to the closet. They feel warm in the cold weather. In fact t we have more snow and much more predicted for tomorrow. I may pull out velvet to wear to brighten a grey day. She is funny. She wants her hair to be white like mine and asked how long it took.

Not too short. Darker hose would look good, but then I would want darker shoes. Very nice outfit!

Thank you. JAileen. It sounds like a bit darker stockings would be ok if the shoes are darker too. Maybe a black shell worn as a tops d the burgundy top worn open like a jacket would also help balance things out. I hope I can wear this outfit if I need something dressier than pants for the December holidays. I have some dressy black patent flats and black tall boots.

Perhaps an outfit lab is in order.

That ruffled tulip shape is great on you - not too short. I'd wear it with black, plum or burgundy tights - pewter shoes would look nice with nude hosiery too.

Thank you MsMaven and Cardiff girl. The outfit was just worn at home and to Nordstrom Rack, nothing romantic. But we hope to go on a belated 50th anniversary cruise to the Greek Islands and a couple of ports on Italy. I hope it works out that we can go.
