My husband and I are having a little getaway since I’m celebrating a milestone birthday and the house is full of construction dust (tile in the new bathroom has begun!).

I’ve been super spoiled already. Last night we had a fantastic sushi dinner. Our hotel room doesn’t give me a full head-to-toe mirror view, but you get the gist. Top and pants are Maria Cornejo — this is actually a repurchased top. The first one got stained at the cleaners and I spied it on sale so I bought it again, yikes! But I do love it. I found a clever little hack to keep the shoulders put where I like them, for a more halter style — my sister gave me a set of little hijab magnets that are very secure and discreet! They look like little buttons. ETA: here is a link to similar ones — if you search “hijab magnets” in Amazon or Google you’ll find lots of similar ones! https://a.co/d/1TXVREd

Worn with my new slides from France and my new tote bag from the same shop. It’s a pleated fabric style very reminiscent of Issey Miyake so I couldn’t resist. I quite like the combination of the sagey-olive green with the coral of the top. Not great pics, sorry!

Extra pics of hotel flowers, our view, and my hilarious but super special birthday cake today — a Cookie Monster cake, thanks to a long-running joke between my husband and me. It made me laugh and it was delicious! I am indeed fortunate to be celebrating 60 in style!
