WIW for Springy Weather - YouLookFab Forum

Hi all, hope everyone’s having a good week so far! Here’s a few recent WIW:

1 & 2: Wore this for distanced, masked hangouts with my parents to celebrate Dad getting signed up for vaccination. At this rate we’ve all had either our first dose or the single shot vaccine. The green daisy sweater is half of a set from Anthropologie, same as my prior cloud set. When the cloud set arrived I loved it and immediately bought the other version. Tradlands cardigan, Levi’s and Converse from ThredUp and Poshmark, and Sigfus Designs clay earrings.

3 & 4: Wore this calla lily dress for Easter in memory of my grandparents, who were florists and specialized in callas. The dress is thrifted vintage and is a wrap dress with a fun open twist back. Clogs are Hanna Andersson from Poshmark, earrings are a recent gift from a partner.

5: Sigfus earrings again, secondhand Salt Water Sandals, and a Roopa Pemmaraju dress from Anthro for an Instagram challenge - #ArtsyOutfitChallenge - the prompt was favorite color palette Then I changed clothes several times because I was doing childcare and tripping over my hem.

6 & 7: Another outfit for the insta challenge and another day of outfit changes after being with the kiddo all day. Watermelon beaded earrings, J. Crew watermelon top from Poshmark, and American Eagle shorts. The prompt was patterns & shapes today.

What are your favorite palettes and patterns? I like rainbow brights, pastels, quirky versions of classic patterns, and illustrated artistic prints.

Your outfits are all delightful - and you clearly have an artist's eye. On me I like geometric and smaller scale abstract. On others it all depends on the wearer.

I like bright warm colors and prints in water color inspired washes or large non-repeated pattererns best. I want florals to look natural... no blue roses and larger than life with lots of background showing. Your name is spelled like my endocrinologist’s but I often see it spelled with a J. Do you run into that problem?

YAY FOR VACCINATIONS! We got our first jab yesterday and will be fully vaccinated on April 28.

As for my own colours, I wear a warm Spring palette year round. Sour brights, some pastels, and lots of white and blue. I am most fond of classic patterns like dots, stripes, checks, plaids, and some florals.

So you wear cropped wide leg jeans the way I only wish I could. Sigh. Great outfits. As to colour, pattern etc - I am your opposite lol.

Lisa, believe me, it took a lot of returns to find the right jeans!! I was so annoyed I could have cried in the one dressing room that was open (or at the post office doing returns, ha!). And sizing is such a lie because they’re bigger than my other Levi’s that are allegedly two sizes larger.

Beautiful, cheerful, stylish spring looks! I can't help but notice that your clothes perfectly complement your home decor--very cohesive and integrated.

I prefer and wear "muddy" colors, with a penchant for deep murky blues like admiral and petrol blue (don't call them teal!). I love lots of different patterns and don't feel really happy with an outfit if it doesn't include at least one patterned element. I am digging dark florals right now.

Jonesy, thank you for noticing the home decor connection! I’ve been thinking a lot about this after spending the past year mostly at home. I want to write a longer post about it.

You have so much fun with fashion, and I’m grateful that you share that fun with outfit pics on the forum!

Team colourful, though leaning into a less bold colour story these days (see pic). I’ve been digging dark florals for a while now, but also a longtime fool for a blue and white stripe. If I see a fashion or home decor mag with a blue and white striped cover story - it comes home with me!

I’m another who is more opposite to you. I prefer moodier colors, cool neutrals, and jewel tones, but that’s also what suits my coloring and personality. I love lost of prints and patterns but have gotten very picky about buying them. These days it seems I mostly indulge in prints in items like scarves. I think I wear them more in summer when I can’t add interest to an outfit with toppers and layers.
