Of course we stayed home for NYE! The theme for 2020 — stay home.
Actually it was a pretty good day. Did some cleaning and tasks around the house, took care of some work things, went for a 3-mile walk in the woods, and ordered a fantastic carry-out dinner from a local Italian restaurant — we’ve not spent a lot of money on eating out this year, so a splurge carry-out meal for our final one of the year was a nice treat and a nice break from cooking.
Then we watched the Pixar movie Soul, which was fun and touching and made us both cry. And we FaceTimed with some friends before celebrating the final moments of the year by joining in a virtual countdown by a local artist/musician via FB live stream. Quite the 2020 finish.
Since I wasn’t cooking, I decided to dress up a little bit for dinner. I wore my new AG Harper black jeans (a repeat style for me in a new color), and a patterned silk blouse from 2019 (with Heattech top underneath to ward off the chill). I even broke out the patterned boots for a little sparkle and pattern mixing.
Bonus: photos I took along my hike yesterday. I’m endlessly fascinated with the colors and surface patterns that develop in these streams — they’re not oil slicks, but actually good bacteria and tannins in the water.
Happy new year to you all!
