Beth Ann suggested wearing an outfit like this so I did, on Friday. Not really sure it works but that is not the fault of the suggestion but the low risedness of the jeans, I think.

Yes, this would work with higher rise jeans. I'm ready to chuck all my low rise jeans if I knew I'd easily find high rise replacements that did not cause muffin top or bag in the rear...a couple of reasons why low rise worked in the first place.

These are too useful to chuck - but I'll keep them for outfits which cover the top of the jeans.

I've decided that I prefer a shoe with more heel for casual Friday too. But I'm sure the silver sneakers will get worn enough on non-work days.

Low rise definitely have their uses! I'd just wear a longer top with this. Looks great!

I'm gathering the top is a denim dress? - how about buttoning up the centre 3-4 buttons to close the gap + create some waist definition? i always scrunch up my sleeves too!

Yes, and I usually wear it button as a shirt dress. I think I did find myself doing that buttoning up during the day. I do love the concept of sleeve scrunching but find it hard in practice! The sleeves on the dress can be buttoned back and I do wear it like that when the climatic conditions are exactly right (on this occasion, the top underneath was long sleeved so wouldn't have worked)

Just a longer top and you're set. I like the column of white under the blue. Instead of scrunching sleeves, try this:

Lyn I bought it last year at target. I actually would have preferred one that didn't button the whole way down, but couldn't find one then.

Aw, thanks, Anne! Another suggestion for a longer top, which obscures the waist -- my pants are mostly higher waisted.

I just wore my version yesterday, with heels, because I felt like it (even though my toes were pinched by the end of day! I'll see if I can find a photo of an earlier wearing.
