It’s been ungodly hot here, hovering around 100 for the past week. We’ve had some humidity, too, with a thunderstorm last night, and a short rain shower this morning. We’re really not used to that.

#1) I wore this for dinner and our local community theater. I thought it looked good, but wasn’t at all successful for dinner. Although we had reservations, we were seated outside in the heat. By the end of dinner I was completely stuck to the chair. The show was great, if a little too long. It was series of mini plays, almost skits, chosen by the audience out of a hat. For example, one was about a substitute teacher at Hogwarts, and another was a memorial service for Han Solo, with Chewy giving the eulogy.

BTW, I almost wore a dress, but the other couple was even more casual than us, with my friend wearing shorts. She melted, too.

#2) For church. I have a pink bag, but it looks bad with this top, so I went with baby blue. I’m a greeter again, and will be welcoming everyone as they come in the door.

Nice outfits. I especially love 1. I love the navy top with the blue red sandals. That looks sophisticated to me. The second outfit is like a pastel version of the first--with the red subbed for pink and navy for baby blue. Both look good!

Lovely outfits for your hot weather. Our church has arctic air conditioning set for men in suits, I think. It is cool outside at 8am too. Today I wore a cardi to match my dress plus a doubled scarf. If one gets there late and has to sit on the outer rim where the air conditioning vents are, one needs boots or something to prevent frozen feet. Our unseasonably hot weather has been in the 90'sF over the average low 80's. No humidity and nights in the 50-60's. ( higher than average).

Both outfits look cool and crisp. Sorry to hear you still suffered from the heat! You certainly dressed the best you could for it. I like your formula of white bottoms + printed top + solid accent color accessory.

I especially like number 1. Number two is great too. I wonder how it would look with a “semi tuck” of the shirt? OR even having the pink shirt open over a tucked in or shorter white tank? Just some ideas for switching it up to get more mileage out of the outfit. Also it might give the old 2/3 vertical proportions, rather than being cut into the halves vertically. It does look lovely as it is though, no pressing need to change it :).

I commiserate. It was 102 here the other day and humidity of 99%, which for us is fairly typical. Brutal.

81 degrees near Port Townsend, Wa where we're staying for a week or so (on Marrowstone Island) but at our home in Idaho, 100 degrees! dry, hot weather. We are grateful to be over here on the peninsula as a respite. We surprised a doe and her fawn today while hiking and it was too hot for them to even get startled so I made a video of them as they munched.

Lovely navy top and gorgeous sandals above! What would we do without our white pants and skirts in the summer? get this, we had no intention of hiking today; we had gone out for a lovely lunch and I wore a skirt. Afterwards, we took a drive, spotted this trail through a forest. one thing led to another and I'm taking a 2 1/2-3 mile hike. In a skirt! I was cool, have to say. And I'm pretty sure the doe and her fawn thought I was way cool.

I saw the weather on TV, and it’s another week of heat including two days forecasted to be 102. CJ, Port Townsend sounds lovely! Opaline where do you live? Your weather sounds like the Texas Gulf Coast.

These both look like as comfortable as you can get in such heat without knocking down to bikini style, and the white pants and skirt make you look cool and crisp as a very lovely cucumber. Good choices for hot days.

The first one is classic Americana or naval, and looks great on you. The second one reads a bit more preppy, and I love the softer color palette

Both outfits look lovely. It was a shame that your dinner was outside, as probably no matter what you wore, given the temperature and humidity you would have been uncomfortably hot.

There is something so very fresh about white pants and skirts in summer.

So sorry the weather is so hot where you're at. It's actually cooled down here. Monsoon season has started meaning it rains every afternoon. All the national forests and parks that were closed due to fire danger are starting to open back up.

I really like #1 and I'm not sure you could have really changed anything to be any cooler. I like the blue bag in #2 and how the bag and shoes match each other.

Saturday night we had a thunderstorm, but no rain, and several fires were started. Every year it seems, we have a heat wave. But this will be two weeks! Also, I want to say that even though it’s humid *for us*, it’s nowhere as humid as Opaline mentioned.
