WIW: Floral, denim & booties

I bought this Vince Camuto floral tube skirt late in the summer so will be looking for ways to "autumn-ize" this skirt to extend its wearing season.

Today I've paired the skirt with a fairly basic soft denim shirt with pearl buttons and a nod to western style. I added my blue suede booties with bare legs and am using my large light cream handbag. Jewelry is my silver wedding band and a metal cuff with rhinestone details.

Does this combination work in terms of proportion? Does this make the skirt work for fall? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

This is cool, I love it! The contrast between the shirt and the ladylike skirt is clever and interesting.

I cannot get enough of these VC skirts.

Shannon, it it funny, you and I have different body shape (or maybe not so different, after all? hmmm...there is a ponder...but shoulders do differ, anyway...)

But my point, which I promise I am getting to, is that regardless of our body differences or similarities, I think this tube shape is just SUPER flattering on us! (If I do say so myself.)

Well, it seems to flatter most bodies, in fact, but on me it is quite seriously the best shape skirt of all and on you it must be pretty darned close to that. You also look great in most pencils, mind you, whereas I have to be a bit more careful about their proportions. (And if proportions are right, I am good to go.) But we both rock this tube like nobody's business.

Please, please Fashion Gods, tell me this skirt will still be a hit next year. I need more time with this shape!!

I think the skirt looks great here with the denim shirt. I don't see any reason why you can't wear it into the fall. It has a floral pattern which works in the summer but the dark colors make it seem fall-ish also.

Stunning! I tried on some navy booties yesterday, but you wear them so much better. The denim with the inky blue floral is genius.

Great way to debombshell the skirt! Do you have any issues with side views in tube skirts? Even when I go really big in sizing, my booty is outlined pretty clearly when I'm walking, even if not when standing. Since God has poured out abundantly upon me in this area, I returned the cobalt skirt I bought at Target because I felt it might raise eyebrows in my conservative workplace. I did keep a striped version, since the print lessons the "impact>" It's not an unflattering look, really, just a little "too."

I adore this print -- will be watching to see if returns so we can play twinsies.

What a crazy, busy day - just getting back to this thread now!

Suz & Una - these VC skirts are nothing short of amazing. They are indeed like skirt pajamas in terms of comfort, they don't wrinkle, they don't slide around or up and they keep their shape. I mean, what more can you ask of a skirt???

And I agree Suz that there seems to be something magical about the fit - it has worked for every one of the Fabbers who I've seen it on and yet we're all built differently.

Beth Ann - I don't worry too much about the side view any more. I'm built the way I'm built and women have curves. I'm not going to wear anything too tight and get all "hoochie" but I see nothing wrong with a hint at what my shape is, you know? But having said that, I definitely wouldn't wear this type of skirt with a slim fitting top - something with some volume to de-bomshell is definitely required for my comfort level.

Carla - these Aerosole booties were purchased 2-3 years ago so may no longer be available. The boot name was Playa - maybe still around somewhere in the cyber world???

Deborah - my hubby really liked the denim shirt with the skirt too. He thought it was cool that I was wearing what he would consider a "man type shirt" with a girly skirt.
