WIW: Flannel that even I can like

I gave a thumbs down to flannel in Runcarla's post. Too Paul Bunyanesque for me. After I succumbed to the siren's song of the consignment store, I spied a Zara olive green flannel asymmetrical top. So soft!! It had to come home with me. Will I add more flannel to my wardrobe? We shall see. It has moved out of the "Nope" category.

This is a fab layered look and love the grass green color with grey. I'm so intrigued, is all the top a single one piece and made of flannel? To me it looks like a long sleeve tee with an asimmetric waistcoat on it. Wow, I just never met flannel other than some kind of plaid/gingham....but have nothing against the fabric itself...only the plaids...

This is soooo elegant. I am not a flannelista either because it makes me feel like Shrek. Even with the green, you’re miles and miles away from that connotation!!!!

LJP: The top zips up in the back. Interestingly, I have a love/hate relationship with Zara, specifically regarding quality. Every once in a while, Zara surprises me with a quality piece with interesing design elements.

Lyn: Plaid flannel shirts do absolutely nothing for me.The top is one piece, definitely flannel, and a dark olive. It works well with the dark lime turtleneck which, on its own, isn't sufficienly warm for me. Sometimes, I get bored with blazers and want something a little different from a crewneck sweater.

That tops looks great on you - especially with the green of the underlayer. I don't do much flannel usually either, but I like this 'dressy' version.

Agreed re: Zara's quality - I usually just window shop when passing by but lately quite a few of their items have been catching my eye (autumnal colours etc). It's difficult to know whether it's worth pulling the trigger though, due to the expected quality...
