WIW :: Fingerless Gloves with Pom-Poms

One outfit I managed to snap this week. Worn to the language class. Sitting (i.e. not moving) means being cold, so I usually layer and wrap and choose wool and all things thermal.

Backwards from the outerwear:

st photo - the outerwear including the gloves and the hat and the vampire eyes - sorry, the lighting is impossible to get right;
nd photo - the "main" outfit - this tunic CPW could easily be around around €0.01 by now;
rd photo - what I actually wore in the classroom - these fingerless gloves are made of wool and keep my hands warm.
rh photo - Close-up: handmade gloves, bought last year at the craft fair from a nice German lady who makes the most adorable creations. The best purchase of the last winter and certain to keep me warm and cheer me up this winter too. It's impossible not to smile when I look at the colour combo and those tiny "3D polkadots"

I love the fingerless gloves! These made me have a flashback to my childhood, I had a handmade hat with pom poms in different colors that I wore for years and years. Your outfit looks really cozy.

E :: these are made of fleece and only the pink inside layer is knitted. Seeing how much I wear these and how useful they are, I am thinking about finding a piece of fleece I made at one workshop and making them into hand warmers too. But, I guess I could also knit a pair if I find a fun yarn (I know the most basic knitting pattern). Thanks for the inspiration.

I am Suz. This cream puffer is a good lesson that when you know what you want (and consequently keep your eyes open) you'll spot the right thing quicker. Bought last year in July

I also have big expectations form the long black coat I'm still waiting for. This cream coat filled a huge gap in my wardrobe when I moved to a different climate and it also gave me the much needed breathing space to wait for the exact style I hoped would come my way.

How's the German coming? I seem to gravitate toward German lieder in the winter months, and French in the spring! Have you heard these?

Sveta :: I rarely wear finglerless gloves alone. Yesterday was relatively mild day and I was commuting by bus, so they were enough.

Normally, I wear additional gloves too which keep my fingers warm. These colourful fingerless ones I use mainly for keeping the wrists warm and to close the gap in the puffer sleeves.

Those are brilliant winter warmers, Ornella, and I love the unusual colours (NOT your usual red, green, black, white etc, much as I love those too). Rather 80s, as Angie pointed out.

And how clever to have the perfectly coordinated scarf and tee on hand.

Well, I don't have the same fun duds, but thank you for inspiration on making the boyfriends work in winter. I am cold this year, again. Brr!

My German is skippy to say the least. The more I attend the classes, the more grammar rules I learn which slow me down when I want to speak. Before I was just saying things, now I'm thinking and thinking. And the infamous die/der/das. Frustrating, but that's part of the process. Most people here speak English so they switch to immediately when they hear me struggling, but I try to stick to German as much as I can.

The signs, letters and articles are less of a puzzle. I pick up freebies and "read" - or at least decypher sentence structures

Thanks for another music lesson, always a joy. I am listening "Liebst du um Schonheit" as I type and picture you singing it. I will check the lyrics. Have a great weekend too

(I woke up early to prepare lunch box for my son today and only wanted to peek at the forum).

Yup, I have figured out I gravitate a lot towards pinks-fuchsias-orchids this winter for some reason. A few warm pieces are probably responsible for that, so the rest is made to work together.

My BFs in winter - I'm entering the zone of needing new jeans desperately, but the thought of the new search makes me feel nauseous. So, what I already have must stretch and work hard.

(And now, off to prepare that lunch box.)
