WIW: Fickle fall

We’re not quite into full fall weather yet but I did get to pull out the boots a couple of times. I have a hard time remembering what works when the “seasons” change and feel like it takes a few weeks to get in a groove. I love seeing everyone dipping their toes into fall fashions—hoping that I have some time to work on some fresher fall looks (shopping my closet of course!) Until then, here’s what I’ve been wearing. Kellygirl, you look gorgeous in all of these. You always look fabulous in your jeans and shorts, but I am loving the lace up Docs in #1 with that beautiful dress which is my favourite outfit. You and Oreo both look wonderful in #8, you are such an inspiration for me to get working on toning up at the gym.

My transition weather is the same, one day I am in shorts and a blouse, the next jeans, boots and a trenchcoat!

Thanks, Bijou! I've been in a bit of a funk but I'm trying. The dress and Docs was my fave too--I still love stompy boots! I'm kind of over the Frye's but they're the best boot when I'm in the field--they're indestructible. Oreo is a great motivator when it comes to walking--she's my fitness muse!

I love all your outfits but like Bijou my favourite is the first. Those boots are funky and go so well with that dress.

We’ve also been experiencing a weird fall. We had a warm September up until the 21st than right on target fall seemed to hit…for 3 days…now its Oct they are forecasting 4 day this week of almost 80F/26C…not normal for us. Makes it hard to know what to wear…

anyway, you look great, and i like them all, but favs are #1 and #6

Your Fall outfits are really fabulous - all of them. However 1 and 7 really speak to me. Cute graphic T as well - a cat lover here I have the same issue when Spring and Fall come around it takes me a while to my find my outfit making groove and the problem is that these seasons are so short here that by the time I find it the season has passed!

Yes, transitioning to fall is always a bit tricky. I see people here earing both full summer looks and full fall ones, and everything in between. You have done an excellent job of it.

Wow, boots comming out for fall! Love the last pictie stylewise and Oreo, too! Then my top 3 are 7,6,5 -love the matchy FlyLondons(?) to that gorgeous floral print on the dress!!:-)

I always love the variety of your outfits! Love the first dress with boots and the bootcut jeans on you. I know what you mean about the change of seasons, it takes me a while to adjust and remember what I was wearing the last time.

Your outfits are brilliant and you look amazing in each of them. I love the attention to detail despite the deceiving simplicity of each outfit. There are always perfect proportions and shapes, interesting colors or patterns, and GREAT footwear chosen with each look. I had a hard time to choose a favorite, because I love them all. No 1 stands out - I love the dress as it is and the combination with the docs is just fantastic. I love your style!

You seem to be dealing with the transitional season very well, KG. More love for the dress with booties (#1) but also the matchy fun going on in #6 with the cute blue slides picking up the print of the skirt.

Well, you look like you know what you’re doing! I know what you mean, though. It takes me awhile to get back in the groove for a change in weather. The first one is a fun and tough look. Those boots! No one will mess with you in them!

These are great but I share love for the first one with lots of the others.

Stompy boots look wonderful on you and you add the polish. I also love your dark bold florals and the utility pants look chic on you.

These are all great fall looks. I see sandals that would probably be swapped out for boots or closed shoesi like the dress in #7 best.

Great transitional looks. The wrap skirt and light blue Dansko slides in #6 are stellar on you!

Hi Kelly! You do your signature style so very well! Love all outfits, but want to throw a little extra to #5. I think the scoop neck, drape of the topper and wide legs are such a flattering combination on you, plus the black and khaki picking up your hair color.

I love everything, as usual, but my faves are #1 (excellent dress and boots combo!) and #3 (love, love, love that short-sleeved sweater paired with jeans and boots!). And of course the pic with you and Oreo is adorable and all kinds of fab! I see no signs that you are having an issue with transitioning to fall weather and dressing ;).

From where I am sitting it looks like you have mastered transitional dressing! The weather is making it tricky, but you look fresh and fabulous in each outfit. #1 is my fav. I hope you have it on repeat!
