I have been joining kkards and others in trying to wear some lesser worn pieces in February. It’s been very busy but a good chance to wear summer things that have been overlooked.

1) I went with the left but planned to wear the right. This top on the right is not often worn but it didn’t sit nicely with the pants so I went with my basic black tee and deliberately left it untucked. The gold sandals are also a bit overlooked but perfect for the 1 km walk each way. These palazzo style pants are up to 28 wears so they have been well worn in three years. They always make me happy.

In photo 2 I wore a pink top that is 11 years old . With some shorts that are shorter than current trends. But I don’t like longer shorts on me…. I dragged out my old Eileen Fisher sandals - they are very comfortable - for a short walk to do some errands with a friend. The second photo was earlier in the day when I walked up 1300 steps to look at the view in 3. I am training for a multi day hike in one month.

I am enjoying all these pieces so everything stays.

I noticed two shops were closing down in our local city mall. Jacqui E and Portmans -both Australian retailers that aren’t big online - and targeting office workers. I used to buy from Jacqui E but I think their market has disappeared - the pencil skirt and blouse for example. I am not surprised - the mall is getting quieter. It’s really hard times in those mid range places here. I have some mixed emotions about it - less local options, less local employment - but it’s almost all polyester and reflects a style of dressing that isn’t really there any more.

Thanks for looking!
