WiW (featuring black moto & items from Una and Anne)

I recently thrifted a pleather Express black moto from the consignment store. I have loved how the YLF ladies have rocked the moto, but it is an out-there, high-fashion item of clothing for me; not sure how the experiment would turn out, I did not want to invest too much money in the purchase.

I wore the jacket for the first time today, and (a) I'm thrilled with how the outfit turned out, (b) I felt comfortable and happy all day long, and (c) I received a lot of compliments. I like the jacket fine, and I'm not jonesing for an upgrade, but I can see that it might be a more of a workhorse than I was thinking.

Pic 4 - Playing in my closet, trying to choose an outfit for a conference presentation (I'd wear tights or hose for the real event). I love this skirt - it's bright, and flowered, but it plays nice with an amazing number of items in my closet...

My happiness factor while wearing all outfits was high - surprising, since they all took me outside my comfort zone in one way or another - but I'm open to your honest feedback. Thanks for looking!

These all look good---- my faves are #5 and #6. I love the colors of the equipment shirt, and the black skinnies look very modern! YLF!

Wow - great outfits! And I bet your happiness quotient was high because you are READY to change up your style a bit. Maybe even a bit more than you imagined!

All of these look super on you. Love the moto; it looks substantial, somehow. No wonder you got compliments!

Thanks, Isis. Of all the outfits, I'd say #6 is the most out there for me. It's a VERY comfortable top and boots, though so I got used to it after a bit.

Suz, thanks for your comments. After posting the pictures, I did have a moment of feeling that these are quite different from my normal style. They are, aren't they?

Love these! #3 is wonderful. I think black and camel are such a sophisticated combination. The grey and peach together in #4 is another very sophisticated and rather rare combination - love it! #5 and 6 are just wow. I love to see you in such rich colours. Very successful play day!

I think all of these are great except the top half of #4. The blouse/cardi both look dated and sightly frump to me. The other outfits are amazing and modern cool! LOVE that moto. Looks quite comfy on you!

Great outfits! I love your casual style. My faves are 3,5,6--the moto jacket is fab and I love the cowl neck tunic. You look so sleek and polished! The caramel and black look great together too--the scarf ties them together perfectly!

JR - thank you for your sweet comments. I think colors are more of my natura element, especially these bright colors.

Jenava - thanks for the comments and for the feedback. I like the color combo of oeach and gray, but I know what you mean. In fact, I was thinking that it might be fun to try that combo of blouse and skirt with my moto, tights, and Steve Madden lace-up boots, for a little mix and match vibe.

Crazyone - thank you - I can imagine how much fun a blue moto would be. I hope you are enjoying it! I'm not really a tucker of tops - I might try a different topper, though, to update the look.

I have recently started mixing black and brown, and really like the combo, so I have a few "bridging" items, like scarf to make it look more intentional and less like a bunch of neutrals that don't match. You know, you are one of the queens of casual style from my point of view (I loved the infinity scarf outfits you posted recently)...

Ceit - thanks! You know, that's the silhouette I think of as my personal rendition of Firefly Chic, a look you rock so well!

That moto jacket was a great find - love the brown and black combo in #3 and the Karen Kane top in #6 - you look really good in skinnies and boots.

FWIW - I really like your skirt but the black shoes and dark cardi seem a bit too heavy looking - maybe because the skirt seems more summery to me.

So fantastic! Love seeing my shirt on you - aren't the colors fab? And the moto jacket suits you perfectly. Your legs look so long in those pants. And the tunic in #6 is something you must duplicate and wear often - I feel really comfortable in this silhouette, which reminds me of a kurta.

Kiwichick - I hear you! The skirt is lined, though, and warm. I think I might give it a shot at winterizing it with boots and a moto. I'll post a WiW, so folks can weigh in, if I do that.

Una - I can not thank you enough for the shirt. The colors are fab, and work really well with my coloring. I have gotten loads of compliments every time I have worn it. I do like the long tunic, skinny, boots silhouette - both boots and skinnies are post-YLF directions for me (so, the last 4 months or so), but I am excited to go further in this direction.
