WIW: Fall Makeup, and Turtlenecks

I had some time this morning to play around with my makeup so I tried to come up with a fall look. I have small close set features, and deep set hooded eyes so I always wear light eyes shadow (if I use it) and eyeliner of some sort. I also have fairly pigmented lips so I don't need much in the way of lip color.

All the cosmetics are mineral based. I am wearing a pale creamy yellow eye shadow, a teal eye liner, minimal foundation, some light bronzer, mascara, brow pencil ( I just had my brows waxed a few days ago. I have thin brows to begin with, but they still need shaping), and sheer gold lip gloss. What do you think? Is it too much?

Our warm weather has left us so I am wearing a cashmere turtleneck today. I dug out a green one that matches my nail polish and I added a fall scarf and some matching earrings. I will be heading out to run some errands so I am wearing my Taos gold studded sneakers (very comfortable). My turtleneck isn't very fluid but I still like it. I think I can get away with wearing it still. What do you think?

I like the color combo too. The teal eyeliner and turtle look nice with your eyes. I like that you used a light hand with the makeup, it looks good.

I like the colour combo on you. Your hair looks very golden in the pictures. I have never understood what hooded eyes meant. I watch You Tube videos on make up and they talk about hooded eyes. You have beautiful eyes whatever kind they are. I like the way you have applied your make up.

I think you've chased flattering makeup colours - and I think going with a light touch is the right way for you. You still might be able to get away with a bit of a darker eyeliner - not a ton of it, and not black, but a soft smudge of brown or grey all around might work too. Or, glasses with a coloured plastic frame...

I think the colors are very good--great sneakers. Sweater color is a good range.
I have struggled with the "new" fits myself. Your turtleneck isn't "shrunken" but I find my "eye" won't let me wear even that fitted this year--I have sized up. That's for buying new, though, so I might feel differently for something I already have and particularly for favorite colors.
I tried on some sweaters I'd hoped to keep if they were just sort of in-between, but I tossed several that seemed to have shrunk some, unfortunately with just hand washing, that I was pretty sure I'd never consider even "classic" fit.
Sometimes it's a combo of length and fit--if it's not so fluid but is a longer top, it might read as more intentional longer/leaner & I might keep something. Once it starts looking a little short, it needs to be boxy or it looks too twee on me. I think it's more of an issue with my pear shape, than with rectangle, because I need to balance proportions.
So difficult, at times!

Staysfit, you have such beautiful skin! The colors you are wearing look great, very complimentary. The shadow, liner, lip gloss seem perfectly suited to your soft, delicate features. Your brows frame your eyes so nicely. Are you wearing mascara on your lower lash? You might use a bit more definition there. I wonder about blush. Might be something to experiment with, instead of bronzer, for the cooler months.
Yes, the turtleneck is a good look on you, and the whole outfit is a pretty, polished, casual one for a day off. Love the sneakers!

First, the outfit: I can understand why, with a figure like yours, you are reluctant to mask it with voluminous clothing! I think you look great--seasonal, classic, and dressed in your colors. Surely a cashmere turtleneck & pretty scarf will always look attractive, if not cutting-edge.

Now, the make-up: You've done a good job, and kept a light touch, which suits your porcelain skin and delicate coloring. I like your choices, but would also love to encourage you to go just a little more vivid, especially in lip color. Do you generally stick with gloss? If so, you might want to try a creamy lipstick in the muted orange range--nothing too dark, but if you experiment with a few inexpensive lipsticks ranging from cantaloupe to persimmon, you may be surprised at the way your gorgeous green eyes are enhanced when you hit on the right tone. You can always blot the color if it seems too opaque, and add a lick of the golden gloss on top for shimmer. Just a thought...
