Below are a couple of fall outfits I've been wearing lately.

After vociferously proclaiming on @LisaP's post that I would never wear jeans again - I had a hankering for straight leg, faded black ones with Raw hems. These two cheapie pairs from Gap did the trick. @Angie is right - current jeans take freshen up a look (as do the lug boots.)

I also bought this puffsleeve denim jacket from Gap which edges up a look nicely (and it was a steal.)

Season-shifted a light silk thrifted dress with some wide leg pants - I've never tried this silhouette before but I think I like it.

Also: Brown! I'm into column of color likes lately so I paired these thrifted Theory chocolate pants with my J Crew herringbone blazer from last year.

What do you think? How are you dressing for fall?

I spent the day thrifting, but was denied Looking for a very specific thing - men’s merino V-neck sweaters in size ‘S’. I’m down to one black, and one green. Clothes wise, I’m doing ‘seasonally confused’! LOL!

I am struggling this spring - it's been quite cold and I am over winter, but not really feeling the layering right now. I want to wear warmer clothes than I can.... in theory it should be easy to get dressed but it's so so changeable.

Roxanna, you are ready for fall! I want full length pull on pants...no crops or ankle pants. I want long sleeves and more color than in past years. Last winter I bought an orange puffy jacket that I am looking forward to wearing and accessorizing. I want to add one or two bright sweaters and maybe some blouses. I want topper layers for every outfit to extend their wear. I also want a felt fedora that will also work as a winter sun hat and replacement flat booties (especially in pewter, navy, and red or orange. I want more browns in everything, olive boots, a Christmas outfit that includes a dress or skirt. A flannel shirt in a plaid that incudes red orange and a yellowish green that can be a topper over a tee for casual get together. Then I hope to be ready for winter.

@LJP, @Irina, @Angie: Yes, i can wear the jacket buttoned too. It has just the right amount of stretch and structure. I bought it because I wear black pants to work and I wanted something monochrome and slightly edgy to wear with them. Thanks for making it a top pick, Angie! I like the way they styled it in the photo and tried to copy that. They also featured it on the Mom Edit with leather pants, which i really liked too.

@Janet - I loved your recent wide leg pants post. i am gravitating to those too, as well as straight leg jeans. I think the switch in silhouette feels refreshing to me.

@Angie - that comment about the jeans means so much coming form you! One of reasons i don't wear jeans is because they are hard to fit and I don't have the patience - I'm glad you think these ones work! And you inspired me with your dress-over-pants combo to try it here

@Indigoprint yes! That combo is suddenly speaking to me too. I think I'll wear it a lot this winter...

@Joy - you seem to have such a good handle on what you want this winter! I wish i were that organized.

@Carla - thrifting is such a crapshoot, isn't it? I got a lovely forest green Brooks Brothers men's v neck - but in marge. it is big on me but I found that i liked the oversize look for working at home...

@Shevia i have been following closely your Tibi musings! I picked up a couple of great recent Tibi pieces at the charity shop and have been impressed by the clean lines, utilitarian function and slight edge to the pieces.

i love the gap for an quick denim refresh. its usually my go to try a new silhouette because as you mentioned, i can generally get an update without a major outlay of cash
my fav is #1 love the pop of color from the sweater with the juxtaposition of the leather and the faded jeans

Wow, great set of outfits. You wear brown and black equally well. I adore the patterned sweater and new jeans outfit; like Angie, I noticed how nicely the jeans echo your hair, and the bright tones in the sweater are dynamite on you. The new jean jacket looks fab, too, and I like how you're wearing it buttoned at the top, like a prim cardigan--it draws attention to the puff sleeves.
