WIW: fair isle tights 2.0

I wore these Heat Tech tights with a pair of taupey grey boots last week and wasn't totally sold on the combo. The consensus was that black boots might be better so I decided to give these duplicate boots, which I've been contemplating for a while, a shot.

The rest of the outfit is an old tube skirt from Horny Toad (now Toad&Co, probably a smart rebranding) and the French press top is from Cinder and Salt, a screenprinting shop in Connecticut.

I haven't cut the tags on the boots yet -- what do you think?

I quite like this but I think the angle of the photo might be making it a bit hard to judge the boots' proportions? Fit on the calf looks good; would you primarily be wearing them with pants or skirts? With skirts a slight heel (like even a chunky 1" heel) might work a bit better. But this is very good as is and you have a great figure so have a lot of flattering options.

What Jules said! I love the Fair Isle tights on you. What's the comfort on the boots? Good, I expect, or you would not have duplicated.

I like the boots. Comfy brand, too. And I think it's hilarious that Horny Toad rebranded - I always liked their name but I guess it probably wasn't the best idea.

Since they're duplicates of your taupe boots, I guess the question is really, would you get more enjoyment from black boots that aren't an exact match? But I vote for duplicating if you already know the taupe ones are winners.

I'm glad the boots are comfortable enough that you'd duplicate them. Your outfit looks great. I think it does look better than the other outfit. I love the top. (I love coffee..)

I think this outfit is a winner. It looks cute, comfy, cozy, etc. I like the black boots better than the blue, although I liked the blue too, they weren't bad. I love that these are basically flats. Perfect!

I like the boots too and the fair isle tights are fun! I have black and grey argyle tights that I used to wear a lot before my solid colored black skirt died.

I think this is lovely. Particularly like the pattern of your tights and the pattern on your top!

I am coveting those boots, too. They remind me of Camper boots, which are flat too - hugely comfortable but not everyone's cup of tea. I often duplicate those in different colours, as they are so comfortable.

The boots are super comfy -- and I have pretty picky feet. I really have nothing but good things to say about Ahnu. They're durable for their price point, ridiculously comfortable, and usually pretty cute.

Astrid -- I have an old pair of black and grey argyle tights that I may break out to wear with this skirt. I haven't worn them in a while.

Greyscale -- I'm trying to figure out whether these area duplicate or a replacement for the taupe boots. A friend's puppy got a hold of them over the summer, and they have a tear in the leather that's rendered them a bit, er, "casual"... and it seems like the black may work better with my current wardrobe.

Jules -- when I bought the grey/taupe boots, it was to wear mostly with jeans and gear leggings. Now I don't have any skinny jeans, and the only leggings I have left are dark grey, so the taupe boots aren't as versatile as when I bought them.

I vote thumbs up to the boots, they look great for everyday wear. And those are some fun tights.
