Headed out west for a few days visiting friends in Las Vegas (my previous hometown, first time back in almost 8 years!), followed by a week of desert camping in Joshua Tree NP. Carry-on only, so I’m layered up in my bulkiest clothes. It’s so unseasonably balmy in New England right now, I don’t even need the hat and coat today, but will for High Desert nights! It’s nice that chunky sneakers are in; I no longer feel like such a dork when I travel in my trail runners (minimalist city shoes tucked away in my pack).
Anyone have favorite trails in Joshua Tree? It’ll be our first time there! We never went when we lived nearby because we always had our dog with us (who’s staying home with a beloved sitter this time around—50lbs so we never fly with him).
